Phantom Aquatics Signature Mask Dry Snorkel Set

We bought one of these for our family to try before we left on a Caribbean vacation. It fit both our 11 year old daughter and my large headed (bald) husband. So, I ordered 3 more. These were FANTASTIC. A little fogging, but a very large viewing window, NO leaking, very easy to adjust sizing, did not take up much room in a suitcase, and the snorkel worked great. We will NEVER use rental equipment again. For the cost of 1 person's excursion, we bought 4 sets of equipment and snorkeled on 5 different beaches in a week. We did not use fins, but nor did we miss them. Highly recommended. One FYI: The blue mask has a silver bar above the nose, not blue, but the sides of the strap are blue so you know that mask goes with the blue snorkel. We also ordered yellow, red and purple, and all are as pictured.

This is a nice, high quality snorkel. I was very impressed by the build quality, as I've only ever had cheap plastic snorkels from Walmart or other such stores. This is CLEARLY a big step up. If you want a good snorkel, I would not hesitate to buy this product.I am, however, deducting a star for a couple of issues. The first is that the snorkel color doesn't really match the picture above. We picked this snorkel over others in large part because of the color, because our niece wanted one for her birthday and her favorite color is red. It really isn't a bright red like the picture... at best more of a burnt orange. If you aren't concerned about the color this is a great snorkel, but if it matters to you, such as for gifts, be aware before ordering.Also, this listing did not do a good job of explaining the age range this snorkel is for. I've seen some other comments here saying you can buy it for kids or that it fits seven year olds, etc, but please beware: this is not a kids snorkel and it probably won't fit them. You would likely have to be mid-teens or adult to make use of it. It didn't fit our seven year old niece. Yes, we could tighten the straps, and when you get them near the tightest possible it could stay on her head, but the mask is still too big to form a tight seal around her cheeks and nose, and it is going to leak on her. I hope the seller will update their listing to provide a suggested age range, but in the meantime, know this isn't really for kids.

This was my first dry set and while it's a little disconcerting to be underwater and have it completely seal I think all my snorkels in the future will be dry style. You get a little float in the top that, when water lifts it, seals the top so you shouldn't need to purge even if you want to take a trip to the bottom. I'm a little conflicted on how I feel about the lack of angle on the mouth piece: on one hand there's no favoritism toward either side but on the other I'm used to there being a little bend that fits the angle I like to keep my head at. All the other pluses make me not really care though.The shape of the mask is a little different than your usual one but they attribute that to being a lower volume so less air is needed to empty water. I just think it makes me look like a navy seal. I love the adjustments on the straps that have simple pinch buttons on the top and bottom to allow you to adjust. Easy to do and no worry about snapping the strap. It's all pretty pliable rubber on your face and I was comfortable while wearing it.This set seems a little more geared to the serious or working user with it's black color and dry design but again, I love the dry feature and I'll be the coolest looking dad every time I pop out of our pool. I'd kind of prefer a mesh bag to allow things to dry better but I appreciate that there is one included to make it easier to transport.

I bought this for my son for our sailing trip to the BVI's. The snorkel was fine. The mask, however, was not. From the first minute in the water the mask fogged up regularly and intensely. I even had Sea Gold, the anti-fog that I've used on my mask for years... that hardly made a dent in the fog. Unfortunately it was too late to return it by the time we got home, otherwise it would have gone back. Disappointed, to say the least.

This product is good for what I paid for it. I will only use this about once or twice a year, so its good for me. The mask is very clear, but it only sealed for a short while and then I could not get it to seal again, but there was only a slow leak and it did not hinder anything. The snorkel works really well, very comfortable a flexible. The only complaint about the snorkel is that I could not get it in a comfortable position on the mask.

The mask worked well, but the snorkel leaked during the first use. Might be a bad one-way valve so it went right in the garbage.

I was very happy the way this snorkel and mask combo performed. Usually I have a tough time with snorkels not fitting well or being so uncomfortable in my mouth that I just don't bother. This one was very comfortable and became second nature in a couple of moments. The mask also was well-fitted and kept the water out of my covered face area. The attachement of the snorkel and mask together was quick and easy and remained in place for my entire swim. This snorkel was so comfortable in fact that I would forget to take it out of my mouth and would continue to breathe through it even when my head was above water.I would totally recommend this for snorkeling. This Siganature snorkel set performed to expectation and beyond. The price is quite reasonable for the quality you receive.

We are using this for a theater production - but my cast member says it suck onto the face tight so it seems to be a air tight functioning unit of high quality and design - well made - not flimsy.
