Standard Brother cartridges, worked fine, bought them from here for the better price. Arrived as scheduled, no problems. I'll reorder from them when I need refills.

I have tried generic color cartridges in the past with mixed results. Some are fine, others just don't have the print quality. Although these cartridges are expensive I decided they were worth the cost to eliminate the headaches I have had with generic cartridges.

I had a box of off-brand ink that I think I got as a gift. I had swapped out a couple of colors and tried printing a few different documents, but immediately started having trouble with some of the colors. I did several cleanings and test prints and it only got worse. I went ahead and ordered the real deal here and that's exactly what I got. Swapped out all three colors again and the documents printed perfectly! Never going to try the off-brand ink again.

I don’t think there is a person alive who is every truly satisfied with the amount of money and frequency they have to spend on printer ink. It’s all too real that replacement ink often costs as much or more than the initial cost of the printer. And they never seem to last.These brother inks were decent enough, and have lasted a reasonable amount of time. The price seems to be most reasonable when buying on Amazon, so that is our merchant of choice.

I tried non-Brother inks and was VERY disappointed. I wasted a bit of ink cleaning it after use.
