Very slow at writing but perfect for playing music and videos from.
Yes, this is super slow for writing, it’s basically USB 2 with a USB C connection. However, if you don’t mind just walking away and leaving media files to write to the drive, it’s super cheap for storing and playing videos and music from. I use these for playing up to 100Mb/s 4K video files from and they are perfect. I also use them for playing music from as well, perfectly. They are super convenient for using on portable devices that use USB C, I’m using them on my iPad Pro and my MacBook Pro M1 Max. Like I said, super slow for writing but excellent for playing media from, or even storing files on to. Best bit, they are super cheap for a flash drive with USB C.

Works well but cheap and slow
I’ve used Kingston a great at work for server RAM etc and they tend to be very reliable. We also used lots of USB flash drives. The ones that failed most often tended to be Sandisk - one reason I’ll never buy their products. This product is low cost and reliable (so far) but the read and write speeds are very slow (about 13MB/s, rather than 80+MB/s on other USB flash drives) Conclusion I also bought. 128GB Amazon Basic USB-C flash drive that was more expensive, metal construction and speeds of 80MB/s. That might be a better option for many people, but you have to hope the drive does not fail if you have critical data on it. PROS - Reliable brand - Low cost - Has cap to cover USB-C connector - Enough memory for most uses CONS - Slow read write speeds (about 13MB/s). If coping over large files prepare to wait.

Additional storage at a fraction of price
The Kingston DataTraveler 70 - DT70/64GB USB-C Flash Drive in Black offers a portable and convenient solution for storing and transferring data. Here's a review of its features and performance: The standout feature of this USB-C flash drive is its compact and sleek design. Its small form factor makes it easy to carry in your pocket, bag, or keychain, ensuring that you can have your important files with you wherever you go. The USB-C compatibility allows for fast data transfer speeds, especially when used with devices that support USB-C connectivity. This makes it suitable for quickly transferring large files, such as videos, photos, and documents. The 64GB storage capacity provides ample space for storing a variety of files, from documents to multimedia content. It's a practical option for those who need to carry important files while on the move. The black color option gives the flash drive a professional and understated appearance, making it suitable for both personal and professional use. The plug-and-play functionality makes it user-friendly, as you can simply insert it into a compatible device and start transferring files without the need for additional software installations. However, it's important to note that the small size of the flash drive could make it easier to misplace or lose. Additionally, the black color might not be as easily noticeable in certain environments.

You get what you pay for
The item arrived sooner than expected, however the speeds are quite modest, 80 MBs reading and 15MB/s writing, but for the price of £4.96, it is acceptable.

Misleading listing, do not buy based on advertised specs
Listing specs are fabricated — real speeds are 40x slower I purchased this based on the listed specs of 625 MB/s write and 400 MB/s read. After testing, I'm consistently seeing 13–17 MB/s write speed in Task Manager during a large file transfer. For context, Kingston's official product page lists the DataTraveler 70 at 100 MB/s read and 12 MB/s write — so the drive is performing exactly as Kingston intended. The problem is entirely with this Amazon listing, which appears to have copy-pasted NVMe SSD speeds onto a budget USB 3.2 drive. The hardware itself seems fine for light use, but if you're buying this for fast backups, large transfers, or any speed-sensitive task, you'll be badly misled. I've reported the listing to Amazon for false advertising and recommend others do the same.

Incredibly fast on MacOS, stupidly slow on Windows 10/11.
128GB Usage after 2 full years of service. I formatted this drive as ExFat so I can switch without issues between Windows 11 and MacOS. I use this primarily for my music studio and DJ-stuff. What strikes me, is that I have a very fast, modern and expensive W11 workstation and the USB-C stick is pretty slow there. While doing stuff on MacOS, it's averaging to 140-150 megabyte per second (writing). Funny to see how incompetent Windows actually is. To me, since I use this during DJ gigs as well, this is a very nice and VERY CHEAP alternate solution to a more expensive Macbook. As always, way to go Kingston, yay.
