I’ve been wanting a black matte kettle for a while, and overall I really like this one. It looks clean and modern on the counter and matches my kitchen well. It heats up quickly and works exactly as expected. We use it daily and haven’t had any issues so far. The only small thing I’m not sure about is that when the water boils, steam builds up on the lid like this. I don’t know if that’s totally normal or if it could affect the lid over time. So far it hasn’t caused any problems, but it’s something I noticed. Other than that, I’m happy with the purchase and think it’s a good value for the price.

This is my new favorite kitchen appliance. I frequently drink tea and very rarely coffee so I couldn't justify spending a ton of money on a coffee machine, for years I've had a stove-top kettle but got tired of nearly burning my hand on it's handle and having it shrilly screech at me in the other room so I thought, time to get an electric kettle. So I got this one. It heats up and boils the water in what seems like minutes, way faster than my stove-top kettle on high heat, it's quiet, the handle and even the sides of it stay cool so I don't ever feel like i'm going to burn myself. It auto shuts off, the little red light that turns on when the switch is set to on makes it easy to tell at a glance if it's done boiling if i'm not paying attention and walk by my darkened kitchen in the morning after starting it. This coupled with this nifty little metal reusable coffee filter I found in a local store that fits in any size coffee cup, makes it super easy for me to make coffee on the rare occasion I drink it and I can easily make more tea than i'll ever drink in a morning with the kettle. Super fast, super convenient and way safer than my stove-top kettle. Would totally recommend to anyone. I only wish it came in red to match the rest of my kitchen appliances.

Writing this review after 2.5 years of ownership. Good kettle. I see no scaling (I have an RO system at home). The only minor complaint is this heats water slower than the amazon basics kettle, but this one keeps the water warm for longer after turning off.

I bought this because it is all stainless steel inside with no plastic to leach into water. It heats quickly. My two negatives are the very short cord, which means I have to put it on to of a box to reach the outlet (on the wall). (lost a star for that). It doesn't always immediately turn off when it boils, but that's ok because I just flip up the on switch if it hasn't disengaged by the time I have poured the water. Often it will flip off at the end of pouring. It will eventually flip off after boiling a while. It is a very good product.

Color is cute. I ordered this kettle as housewarming gift to my brother and sister in law. They loved it until a couple months ago it started to dribble really bad at the spout while pouring. I was with them over the Christmas holiday and witnessed how bad it was. We can't figure out why or how this is happening. But boiling got water dribbling out of it isn't a safe or good feeling. I'm just sorry it happened so late. Otherwise I would return it and shop a different brand. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. I contacted the seller and was treated very poorly, insulted as ifnto say it was user competency. I'm a 48 year old woman who drinks teas daily and knows how to pour a kettle full of boiling hot water. This kettle was defective and I was treated as if it were my fault it wasn't working properly. I was refunded half what I paid for it. Having only had it for 10 months and all of a sudden it started dribbling, if it were indeed me causing the problem it would've happened from the start. Purchase at your own risk. I bought a different kettle different brand completely to replace.

After reading horror stories about "forever" chemicals like PFAS appearing in everyone's bloodstream and throughout the Earth's biosphere, we put our still-working plastic electric kettle in the garage. Then I began a search for a new "plastic-safe" one. That was my primary, if not my only, criterion. You might think that would be an easy search. Not so. After reading what must have been several hundred one-star reviews, I became convinced that: (1) having no plastic contact with water is a big issue for buyers; (2) makers are aware of this; and (3) a lot of one-star reviews appeared to have been planted by competitors trying to bash their rivals' products. So I read each one-star review skeptically, with an eye on the engineering design shown in the photographs and my training as a scientist and engineer. I looked at just about every electric kettle that seemed to have a glass or metal container for the water. I spent about four total search hours over three days. After all that, this is the only product whose description and reviews left me reasonably confident of meeting my criterion. It's not the prettiest, and it's certainly not the cheapest. But who wants to be poisoned? Now that I have it, this kettle seems to fit the bill. I cleaned the inside, outside and cookstand with paper towels and isopropyl alcohol. There had been some brown steaks inside the stainless container (cutting oil?), which resolved to tiny brown dots with the isopropyl and disappeared after I rinsed the container out with water. Then, as instructed, I filled it to MAX (clearly stamped inside) and started it up for a final cleansing. TWO MINUTES TO LOUD BOILING SOUNDS EIGHT MINUTES TO ROLLING BOIL ANOTHER 30 SEC to 1 MINUTE TO OFF I carefully rotated the kettle as I emptied the still-hot water to sterilize and clean the stainless pour spout and the inside top of the cylindrical container. IIRC, other reviews ding this kettle for having a tiny plastic intrusion (probably a fastener) just under the handle, and for having a leaky seal between the stainless pour spout and the cylindrical container. If you don't overfill the container (well beyond the clearly marked MAX) you would have to work hard to get your hot water in contact with that little bit of plastic. As for the seal, I haven't tested it yet, but the only danger I can foresee is hot water leaking out the bottom between the plastic outer skin and the water container. That's a potential safety and cleanup precaution, not a poisoning risk. So all-in-all, this product meets my dominant purchase criterion. After hours of searching, I could find no other product on Amazon that unambiguously did. If we find any thing wrong with it that would change or purchase decision, I'll amend this review. Right now, I'm happy that a long and arduous search has produced a rather expensive automatic electric kettle to duplicate those old bulbous and innocuous all-glass containers, with bakelite handles, that used to sit peacefully on hot plates years ago. What with sponsored-product "hits" that seem to appear regardless of the details of your search request, and with an apparent epidemic of one-star reviews posted by rival makers, shopping on Amazon ain't what it used to be.
