Houston, we have a winner :-)
Okay, so, my husband Doug and I have edged past 50, got our AARP membership and, what can I tell you, I slowly developed an irresistible urge to own a TV tray. So, inching myself over this point of no return, I bought this little guy to place next to Doug's favorite reading/snoozing/game-watching armchair. It was super easy to assemble, which I just did this morning. I simply pushed this bar and that bar into place and attached two screws (Allen wrench provided) and voila! I think it took me 10 minutes, 15 tops. It's adorable and I'm delighted that it's very light but so sturdy on its feet. I gave it a few semi-hard shoves once assembled, to test whether it would easily topple over if accidentally jostled, and the thing stayed standing. At the same time, it's light enough so Doug could just push or lift it out of the way. The adjustable height is another happy point, and as you can see, I adjusted it so it barely hovers over the arm of the chair. But it would take seconds to make it go lower or higher. Can I say that the dark color elevates it from the typical white ones? So I can stay in denial that I just bought a darned TV-tray? The top is solid plastic but could pass for wood at a quick glance because of its color (just don't look too closely). The pullout cup holder is a thoughtful touch, because who doesn't like a cup holder. One note for improvement, though. I don't intend to ever fold the tray up for storage, but I can see how having to first remove the bottom cross bar with an Allen wrench would not be too convenient. Nitpicking here but I would suggest to the designer that the crossbar could also be the same easy push-into-place design as the rest of the tray, instead of the current screw-on kind. But this issue isn't enough for me to take a star away, because I don't intend to fold it anyway. Doug hasn't seen it yet, because he's out volunteering this Saturday morning. But when he comes home, I won't say anything. I bet he'll just plop down, place his iPhone on top and seamlessly start using it as if it was always there next to his chair. And one week later, after using it daily, he'll suddenly say: "Hey, is this new?". And because we name everything, we'll start calling it Trey. UPDATE (April 2023): Still happy with this purchase! UPDATE (September 2025): Forgot to say that I bought another identical one, this time for me. I've started watching a lot more football. When the game gets boring, no problem. Because I have my laptop perched on my little TV table. I crack that open and do some Excel-work while my husband yells at the TV because the Jets just lost another chance to prevail. "Aw, COME ON! You're BLOWING IT!" But, loyal to a fault, this man never thinks about supporting a winning team. And that's reason # 2340 why he's a keeper. As are these tables.

Nice size in width and being able to adjust the height helps with better posture when sitting to eat or working on the laptop

Versatile tv tray with minor adjustments needed for stability
This is a really handy tv tray. I live in a small one bedroom apartment and needed a tv tray so I could comfortably eat in my living room. It was very easy to assemble. Without the rod, it does wobble a bit. I have hard wood floors, and realized it wobbles even with the rod affixed. However, this was easily adjustable with some padding on the right hand side, and you might not have this issue if you have carpet. It comfortably fits my laptop, a cup of coffee or a plate of food and drink. As the photos show, the design is awesome and the legs slide under my couch or chair easily so I can eat or work in comfort. The cup holder is useless; I am left handed and don't need or use it. However, the tray is wide enough to fit your food and drink without using the cup holder. I am not sure of the sturdiness; the holder doesn't seem stable and popped out when I moved it inside the tray. Overall, an affordable but well-constructed tv tray that gives me flexibility in working from home and enjoying food in my living room. It is easy to clean; I used Clorox wipes. I recommend this purchase to anyone needing a tv tray for their living room, and a spare desk for their home office. It fits both purposes.

Affordable, Sturdy Trays
I was in the market for 2 tv trays. Wanting a tray that could adjust, fold and most importantly was sturdy. This appeared to be the most cost effective option for my needs. After a few weeks of use I can confidently say I am glad I went with this and recommended to anyone in need of tv trays with similar criteria to myself. Installation was a breeze and could be done by most kids. The adjustable leg height allows comfort for all sizes and the adjustable table angle allows for a wide range of use. The cupholder is a nice touch that gives more space for your food or work and a more secure spot for your drink. It does not fit all cups so keep that in mind. The table works great for simple not taking and eating food that does not require aggressive cutting. Once done, it easily folds to be compact enough to slide behind the couch. Love these tv trays so far and high recommend!

Surprisingly, very good!
Easy to assemble and adjust. The range of settings is wide, but the individual steps are not very fine. The surface element can be set level or at a slant. Quite stable for a lightweight product made of metal tubing and plastic! It would be good for a meal if there's another side table handy to hold stuff while pulling this unit into place. I'd be nervous about using it to hold a drink; but it might be ok for folks with more steady hands. Computer height (for typing) will be ideal for some but not for others. Excellent for reading from a book, Kindle, or laptop computer. Your neck will thank you.

Okay, but a bit flimsy
I like the adjustableness of these. The tops are a bit thin and you wouldnt want to rest heavily on them

Has a slight tilt, but still great
Not completely straight (see video), but not bad. Love the cup holder

Surprisingly,Long lasting
I purchased this table in 2023 to be used beside my bed as an eating tray but then I found a better use for it since it didn’t meet my expectations for a bedside tray because it wasn’t tall enough. So I put it outside of my sliding doors to receive deliveries from Amazon and others because trying to get boxes into my front door, because I’m disabled was impossible. This table has had many heavy deliveries placed on it. We are now going into 2026 and it has lasted through all types of weather on my back porch steps. I wasn’t concerned about the color. The table has locked into place and stayed that way. It is a surprise to me because it doesn’t have 4 sturdy legs. What a surprise.

great
Love these trays for doing stuff while watching t.v. I like to colour while watching t.v. and are great for that. Have a white one and a black one.

Weak cupholder but still a decent purchase
The cup holder is very flimsy, you cannot put a heavy drink such as a yeti thermos in it even if it fits as it would bend and likely snap. With that said it still of course holds up plates and food fine, you can of course simply place a larger drink on the table itself.

Great table with one minor flaw
Great table with one minor flaw This table is fantastic and exactly what I was looking for in terms of functionality and style. My one comment is that the mechanisms on the legs are stiff and make height adjustment difficult. If you plan to frequently change the height, be aware of this. However, since my primary use will be at the top height, I'm very happy with it and highly recommend it.

It’s sturdy!
Relatively easy to assemble. I’m not great at assembling furniture but I managed to put this together after about 20 minutes. It feels sturdy and I like the cup holder. I don’t plan to fold it down to put away. It will always be beside my recliner so that I can enjoy having a tray table at my convenience.
