Works Perfectly--it is relatively tall
Settled on this "Egg Poacher Egg Rack" after returning another highly rated automatic poacher that couldn't cook the whites while leaving the yolks runny. I am very picky about my poached eggs. ------------Things you need to know:--The rack with top ring handle is almost 2 1/2 inches tall. So you need a pan that is about that deep. It shouldn't be much deeper or the steam might be too high in the pan to do a good job on the eggs.--You should also have a glass lid to keep an eye on the eggs. Because my pan is 2 1/4" deep a domed lid gives me the extra bit of space for the rack to fit.--To get the eggs done to your personal specifications takes a little practice to get the time right. Then to get the same results later, use the same pan/lid and keep simmering at the same level. On my stove, I have numbers to use as a guide, so I just follow the directions: bring water to a boil, add rack with eggs, turn down to simmer, and set my timer for the time I want.--Note: The timing might be a tiny bit different depending on how many eggs you are poaching.--You can make hard "boiled" eggs by cooking an additional few minutes. I made egg salad with them.--The directions that come with the Egg Rack are very good and the Q&A part is very helpful.Definitely Recommended!!

Non-stick works great with cooking spray
The rack is sturdy and the egg cups will handle even extra large eggs without overflowing. The non-stick surface has been working very well with a quick application of cooking spray before adding the egg. My only disappointment is that cooking items like this are almost always made in China these days. I would prefer to support American jobs and manufacturers, and I will always buy anything made in the USA even if it costs more than the foreign-made version.

Skip it...
Looked alright out of the box, cleaned the pots and made my first batch.I tried 3 with pam spray and 3 without to test the effectiveness of the non stick coating.Non stick coating on this is garbage, eggs stick with or without spray. Any decent non stick coating will work without spray on even direct heat. The directions state to use spray which defeats the purpose of poaching eggs all together.Cleaning was also hard, as hard as cleaning any regular cookware.Stay away

Perfect, just buy it
Ok, I don't write about stuff very often but this thing is really perfect. I can get perfect warm soft eggs with runny yolk in 4 1/2 minutes every time! and yes they don't stick and they don't overflow. This guy/gal really thought it out and made a product that really works the way you want it to. If you like eggs benedict do yourself a favor and buy this you won't be disappointed. - Perfect!

Perfect eggs on first try !
I bought this as a Christmas gift, and we finally got to try it. Eggs came out perfect on the first try, with solid whites and runny yolks, just the way I like them. I like that this rack can be used with the existing pans that we have, and will not take up too much space. I have not had it long, so cannot really speak to durability, but it feels solid and well made, so I expect it will hold up very well. I also like the way the cups are separate from the rack, so it is very easy to lift one out and slide the egg onto a waiting piece of toast. We like this new egg poacher very much, and would recommend to all egg lovers!

Better than the Egg Poacher that comes with the Poacher Pans
I read a lot of reviews for several Egg Poacher Pans, all complaining about having their hands burned by the steam coming from the steam release holes in the plate that holds the egg cups. It's because the holes on all the Pans I looked at have the holes directly under the egg cup handles. Weird. This Eggssentials Egg Poacher Egg Rack doesn't have that problem. The steam is dispersed throughout your pot. And the handles for the Eggsseentials performed the same as the high quality black plastic handles on my (1987 & 1995 ) Revere copper bottom pots. They stayed cool even with the glass lid kept on my T-fal E9189774 Ultimate Hard Anodized 10-Inch Deep Fry Pan with Lid (I recently bought on Amazon. The skillet heats evenly, great non stick finish. Only problem is it will only fit 4 pieces of Butternut Sandwich Bread if I remove a corner off of one slices. I'll live. ) This pan is wide enough to set the rack in and leave 1.5" all around. The pan is also deep enough to use the rack with the glass lid on with about 1/2" to spare.Really happy with both purchases.

Not the one you are looking for
Sticks horribly .. even with the butter I put in each one .. then the egg skin from steaming that formed on the pot, lid, and egg rack took a half hour to scrape and scrub off .. grrrr. Seems well made .. that is the reason for 2 stars .. but does not do what the description says .. not non-stick! Returned.

Great product, but produces an egg that is too thick and round for a sandwich
I love eating poached egg sandwiches, but my Korean-war era poacher that I inherited from my parents was really hard to wash. So I really like how easy this product is to get the egg out of and to wash. But I don't know why these are so small and round. You end up with a really thick egg, which makes the sandwich hard to bite, and since they are round, you can't fit several eggs onto a sandwich together without cutting them into smaller pieces. But narrow tall pieces of egg tend to slide out of your sandwich easily. This seems to be the design of about 100% of egg poachers on Amazon though, so I just gave up and bought this one. I wouldn't give this a bad rating though because other people may not care about making sandwiches with their eggs, and other than the shape of the eggs, I think this is a great product!

YIPPEE........AN EGG POACHER THAT REALLY WORKS FOR ME
I wanted to get one of these two-egg poachers about a year ago but then read that they had become 'unavailable'. Well they're back and are able to cook poached eggs exactly as I like 'em. Lets get the dimensions out of the way first - frame length = 158 mm - frame height = 45 mm - poaching cup's inner diameter at the top = 63 mm with an inner depth of 30 mm. I think the trick is to use a lidded container that is ample enough in size for a lot steam produced by the boiling water to fully cook the top of the egg as quickly as the bottom is also being cooked. I used a 240 mm lidded saute pan for this purpose, with the water level within the pan being a little over a 30 mm depth so that it can boil and roil as furiously as it wants to but not splash over the top of the poacher's cups. Well, that process worked perfectly and - after several years of throwing good money away on other egg poaching methods that just didn't do the job to my satisfaction - this is the one for me. I also like the arced handle to lift the whole apparatus out of the water when the eggs are done.Eamonn

About as non stick as chewing gum
The inventor of this poaching device takes the trouble to inform us that as a teacher and DAD (parent) he knows the importance of feeding his offspring good food and so imply's that we mere mortals who are not teachers are idiots poisoning our loved ones. He also says to remove from FLAME when cooked, yep needed to be told that, but I don't sit around a camp fire with may eggs poaching on a flame, I just remove from the heat. He then repeats a tip about coating the poaching dishes in oil or butter, and you must do this, the non stick coating is of such a poor quality that if you do not you will remove your eggs with hammer and chisel. The non stick coating is on par with 100 grit sand paper.

Bestest poacher ever!
We love poached eggs. I have tried EVERY type of tool (silicone, pan with tray, microwave etc)... I recently got a Ninga, saw this and decided to try. I am so happy and so is my husband (I very rarely write reviews.. but had to for this). I have tried with Ninja pressure cooker and to be honest it was not ideal for us cos he likes soft and I like hard eggs!.. however it was a perfect fit and worked exactly as says on tin. Non-stick perfect ( with a coat of oil as advised). Cup size perfect. The round knobs to get grip of holders are fab, though they do hold heat when first picking up out of pan, so need to be quick. I then tried with a 20cm saucepan... it fits brilliantly. Because my pan has clear lid I could see when hubbies were ready... took his (only)out with 'knobs' making this easy and left mine cooking. Very easy to clean.. Hopefully photos will help show my review and description.

The best egg poacher I have found = much better than silicone ones
Short of having a dedicated pan with its own cups these are the best egg poachers I have found and take up very little room in the cupboard. To get the best results you need to use them properly. Do not ever wash the cups - you may damage the non-stick coating. Just wipe with a paper towel if you must. Prepare the pan first with the correct depth of water just simmering at a constant rate. An 18cm diameter one is ideal. Put a little olive oil into the cup(s). Lower the stand with the empty cups into the pan to heat up - this also helps to check the water level until you have established how many millilitres are needed to produce the desired results. Break the egg into a jug or bowl and check that no shell is present. Take out the now hot stand, wipe the olive oil around the cup(s) with your finger and pour in the egg, taking care not to break the yolk. Place the stand and cups into the pan and cover with a well fitting lid. Start your timer set for 4 minutes and 40 seconds. This produces a well cooked white with a slightly soft yolk. As soon as the timer sounds take out the stand using the central handle - NOT the individual cup grips. I use a black rubber glove for doing this anyway. Now pick up an individual cup by the black grip, pour off any water on the top of the egg ( either too vigorous a simmer or too much water ) and turn out onto your plate or food item such as a burger etc. The poached egg should slide out sweet as a nut.
