what connection do i need to use external to my PC?

Well, this is an internal drive with a SATA connector. It would probably make more sense for you to buy a "ready made" external drive. Taht said if you really want this one, you just need a 2.5" enclosure for a SATA drive, either with a USB 3 connection (to the PC) or something else if your needs are more exotic. Such enclosures are readily available on amazon (e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-Enclosure-External-Housing-Laptop/dp/B07D2BHVBD/). If this is for a temporary connection, you can use an adapter such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-2-5-Inch-Adapter-Optimized-EC-SS31/dp/B017NIDXF0/.

What’s the actual free storage space in the 2tb, 4tb and 8tb ssd?

Well, for my 1tb drive, windows 7 reports 931gb, so I imagine you could just multiply that. Just in case anyone doesn't know, the actual space taken up by the ssd's firmware will be pretty tiny. the difference is mainly due to the different way windows counts the space to the way the ssd/hdd makers count it.

do you get any sata cables?

No you don't get a sata cable with it
