Easy to use, easy to program, and easy to set up the app on your phone!
I just moved into a house built in the 90s that had a completely ancient thermostat. Honestly, I could not even figure out how to use it, it was just so archaic! I bought this and had a professional install it, so I can't comment on the installation process, but I can say that it didn't take the guy I hired too long to do it, and I didn't hear any groaning or swearing, so I'm guessing it was pretty easy as long as you know what you're doing! :-) The interface is very intuitive and easy to figure out, and setting up the app on my phone was a breeze -- the Ecobee unit basically walks you through it. Features: I can set the temperature I want it to cool my house down to, the temp I want it to heat my house up to, and I can set it to auto (it will heat or cool as necessary) or I can specially just tell it to cool or to heat. There are settings for vacation mode. But really the best for me is the app! If I'm away from the house, I can check on what the temp is and I can turn the heat or A/C on while I'm away -- say, 1 hour before I'm about to arrive home, so my house is at my desired temp when I arrive! Also, if I'm in my back room and feeling too lazy to walk to the center of the house where the thermostat is, I just whip out my phone, open the app, and turn the A/C on or off (whatever I am looking to do) without having to get off the couch! Ah, modern technology is awesome! :-) I did not integrate it with Alexa as I don't have Alexa, and I did not use the remote sensor so I cannot comment on that, though that does seem like a handy little extra!

If your house is old, buy a 24v power adapter to save the headache.
This thing is awesome! But chances are that you only have a 2 wire thermostat( red and white) in your house. This was a huge headache for me since it's hard to find out how to run new wires yourself to your boiler especially if you don't have a newer home or have a heat only system. Easy fix though. Buy a 24v transformer that plugs into a wall outlet. You can still hide the wires in the wall and run them into your basement(if possible, or just have a small cord plugged into the thermostat) and plug it in instead of running new wires and wiring it directly to the boiler. This thing requires a c wire even though it says it doesn't. It comes with an adapter but won't work for most people with heat only systems because there is nowhere to hook the adaptor up to if your system is a multi zone heat only baseboard heating system. Once I bought the 10 dollar 24v transformer, it took me 10 mins to hook up. So worth it! Best thermostat I've seen out there.

The remote sensor is a big deal (and installation tip)
I've installed ecobee thermostats in three different homes now, and they are always my first choice. A big reason is the remote sensor. The ecobee senses where you are, and provides the temperature at that location. I will add, however, that installation required jumping through some hoops at two of the locations. The directions are very clear, but there are just so many wiring possibilities that eco doesn't always get it right. With my latest installation, it told me to ignore a jumper wire, but when I plugged in the thermostat, it didn't even come on. I pulled it back off the wall and rewired it to include the jumper, and it appeared to work fine. But then when the first day came that I needed to turn on the A/C, it wasn't even an option on the menu. So why do I still give it 5 stars? Because technical support was amazing! They answered almost immediately in the middle of the night, and walked me through the problem. My installation tip is that if your old thermostat had any jumper wires, immediately get tech support on the line. They can trouble shoot the unit remotely, and even electronically "re-wire" the unit.

Sometimes Alexa says having trouble right now, try again later. Unplug and replug in then works
Works well but the Alexa part sometimes does not work; loses touch and camt respond. Have to pull out and plug back in to reset. Happens infrequently but is annoying when it occurs. Finding this same thing with other Alexa devices sometimes say "I'm having trouble right now, try again later". Why does this keep happening? Wifi working at time this occurs. Have to unplug and replug I. And then works

Love it!!!
Unfortunately, the HVAC guy who set this up (only had him do it because we had other HVAC issues) and he DISABLED ALL THE SMART FEATURES! He does not believe in smart thermostats and would not do what I had asked for. Little does he know that I have a strong IT background and this is extremely easy to set up. He did not connect it to our wifi, he disabled the second sensor, did everything possible to sabotage our ecobee. Fortunately, this is very easy to set up and I quickly connected it to the wifi, set up the smart features and enabled the second sensor. I can now monitor the house when away, set it to economically set the temperature when the house is empty, etc. Initially bought a Nest system, but it would not work with the power that we had. The ecobee is much more flexible and works with more systems. Two thumbs up and highly recommended.

Accurate and reliable
So weโve had this thermostat for a while now. I placed the sensors on the furthest ends of the house, one being my teenage daughterโs room that had a separate thermostat because it was an addition. Now this sensor has been in her room for some time now but the last few weeks sheโs been telling us to turn down the heat because it gets really hot at night. I got a notification from ecobee last night to check my unit because the thermostat was reading below 60. I checked my app and sure enough the sensor was reading 37 degrees so the heat was cranked in that part of the house. I thought maybe the batteries or something with the sensor was glitching so I unpaired it for a quick fix. When I talked to her today I found out that she forgot what the sensor was and thought it was an old piece of Internet equipment and threw it away a couple weeks ago. Yโall this sensor has been reading the outside temp at night from a landfill about 20 miles away!!! Donโt know how but all I can say is that itโs accurate and reliable to say the least

Quick and Easy install, even for an old HVAC system...
My house was built in the 60s, the HVAC is about 20 years old... I bought this to help maintain better temperature in the home and better regulate the older system... It works fantastic. It comes with the adapter to hook up an older system... it plugs in just right, super easy... And it maintains the temperature in our home much better... We get 2 total sensors in the package (the thermostat has a built-in one) and the extra one... and we bought 2 more of the Room Sensors (updated) and they link up to the system just fine. I recommend between 3 and 4 total sensors, on each floor, to give the system the best chance of working properly with this system. It is saving me money, nearly paying for the thermostat and sensors... by the end of summer, it will have paid for itself. That is a bonus, because next year, it will save me money. Alexa integration works flawlessly...

Great thermostat
It was easy to setup and it looks great! I bought this thermostat to replace my nest thermostat where the wifi connectivity stop working and nest wouldn't help me since it was out of warranty. Glad I made the switch, 3 year warranty on this unit and it came with a remote sensor!

Beat customer service ever
I only purchased this device because everyone in the customer reviews raved about the the customer support . They were 100% correct, the customer support guy was very patient and the fact that you can send pictures makes everything so much easier. The device itself is very user friendly, and it looks good on the wall.
