Zelerdo12 Pack Kayak Paddle Drip Rings for Kayak Canoe Rafting Paddles Shaft

These keep the kayak interior dry ----er.
Nice rings for the kayak paddles. These are a bit harder than the more flexible rubber rings that came with the paddles, and are accordingly a bit more difficult to install. However, deterioration of the original softer rings is the reason I was buying these. These appear to be more durable, and hopefully will last longer, plus I now have some spares. I also discovered that by installing two rings on each paddle, I can further reduce the amount of dripping into the kayak interior. I slide one ring down almost to the blade. In that location it is submerged during the stroke, but it then interrupts drainage from the large area of the paddle blade well away from the open cockpit of the kayak. The second ring, in the traditional location, then has to interrupt only the drainage of the water clinging to the short section of the handle that is submerged above the first ring. Works well.

Pretty good but could be better.
The one thing that I would like to see them change is to use MUCH softer rubber. This material will not stretch much at all to go over center adjustment mechanisms (no workaround that I know of). They also will not fit tightly on slightly smaller diameter paddle shafts (workaround: wrap some good electrical tape around the shaft until the drip ring friction fits). That said they worked fine on 2 of my paddles: the Werner and the Waterstick. You can get them to expand a TINY bit by running hot water on them.

Easier than I thought
The reviews for this product made me worry it would be hard rubber but they aren't. I can squeeze them around the middle and they will fold over. With a little bit of coaxing I was able to get them over my oar paddles with no problem. It has completely solved my issue of getting wet when using my kayak conversion on my paddle board!

Do not seal well
I installed these on 6 kayak paddles from lifetime. They do not seal well so they slide around and they allow water to leak between the paddle and the rubber drip cap - making them only slightly better than not having them at all. I wish I had bought tighter-fitting ones.

Stiff and loose
The material this item is very stiff. I was expecting something soft and flexible. The fit on the shaft was loose. Had to apply some electrical tape to compensate for the fit.

Gets the Job Done
Keeps the drips off your hands. Slide on easily but stay in place. Some people have recommended putting two sets on each paddle but I have not felt like it is needed; one set for each works fine. Had enough to share with my sister and her family too. Great value.

snug
nice snug fit in my paddle shaft; drip catching portion seems a bit shallow but have yet to test it on the water

Works okay
Some water leaks over but much better than without them. I’d buy again
