Best brush for long costs with matting! Life saver!
I bought several brushes at once to try; I have dogs with long medium and short coats so I figured I’d try them all on all the hair lengths. I have a senior Great Pyrenees who is unable to travel to a groomer. His mane became matted from sitting in dirt, rainy days, and slobber after drinking. I already had a few brushes but none of them got deep enough to detangle the hair. I bought three brushes to try on him. This one was by far the best. The small wooden one in the photo was great but only on short and medium hair. The black and blue one is designed to cut, however, the pressure needed for the blades to actually cut the hair was too much for my old man and caused him discomfort. This brush did great at detangling and brushing out the undercoat. Gentle pressure and brushing slowly worked best. My friend is looking fluffy again and he enjoys brushing when I use this particular brush! Highly recommend to help with matting but also for regular brushing. This brush was great for all hair lengths, all the dogs enjoyed it. On medium and short hair it think it’s great for regular brushing, although at those lengths, it didn’t seem to remove too much of the undercoat though. I think going in with a different brush that would help remove the undercoat and then brushing with this one would be best as this brush does gather it very well.

How can you love a pet brush?
I don't know what kind of magic this company infused their brush with, but it works and I'm not second guessing it. I have a mini double doodle (a glorified VERY expensive mutt that's half mini goldendoodle and half mini labradoodle) who has a tight wavy coat and then an obscene amount of cats because when I see their little faces I can't say no. I've been through way too many slicker brushes to even try to come up with an accurate estimate, but this is truly the first one I've ever liked, and I like it enough to say I love it. Every single self cleaning brush I've used before, doesn't really self clean very well. They bring the hair to the top of the brush, but still leave it about 1/4" into the bristles. This one brings the hair all the way above the bristles so there's no fighting to get the hair out of the brush. Legit "self cleaning", and it's my everything. I have arthritis in my hands and it doesn't hurt to hold this, or to actually use it, because there is a difference. And big bonus, it doesn't hurt my animals when they get brushed either. Now, the best part of all....it actually removed hair...a lot of it! The last slicker brush I had would basically rake up a lot of hair and catch some of it, but leave most of it just loose on my animals' coat. This one actually catches the hair it loosens. It's extremely satisfying to have a mound of hair that's in the bin, rather than on my clothes and furniture. So to the designers, I think you might be pet brush gods. Thank you for using your talents and making brushing time easier and more efficient.

Our new go-to brush
The quick-clean button makes it easy to repeatedly brush then retract the bristles (wires) to blow off a mat of fur. My rough collie has a long outer coat and dense undercoat. This brush smoothes the outer coat nicely while gently cleaning the undercoat by applying extra pressure. I use a Furminator fine-tooth brush during biannual shedding season to really comb the undercoat thoroughly. It’s more work. This brush makes it easy to do a quick job daily. And, my dog seems eager when he ses the brush come out. He enjoys it.

Awesome brush
I have to say I love this brush. I held off on buying a new brush (even though I really needed a new brush) but am sooooo happy with this purchase. I have two GSD dogs and one Pitty and LOTS of fur! When shedding season starts it takes weeks of daily brushing to help the girls shed all that fur. However, this new brush is way more effective (similar style as the old one but more teeth) and the ease of cleaning the brush enables me to get more brushing done in less time. The dogs also like it and I find I can brush their undersides without them telling me to stop! So I give this a total 5 star thumbs up!

Like Swiffer for Pets!
Very rarely do I buy into the reviewer bandwagon and say that anything is the absolute "best." But honestly, I have to agree in this case. I use this on all 3 dogs (Lab, Basset Hound, Pointer). Also, I use this on my short and long hair cats. Here are the reasons: 1) The angle is perfect. It's made with a natural angle so to reaches all layers of hair. Also, does not put your wrist at an uncomfortable angle. 2) Something about the material it's made with creates some type of attraction to hair. I don't want to say it creates static but it is something similar. Like a Swiffer for animals! 3) The bristles aren't sharp so all animals not only tolerate it's use...they love it. Even the super sensitive cats. When I pull out this brush - they all gather around waiting for their turn. No, I'm not exaggerating, 4) The hair release mechanism is brilliant. This brush totally retracts so the hair literally falls right out of the bristles vs some that just push the hair up from the bristles. There is no need to use my hand other to pull the fur out. I'm about to purchase a second brush - for strategic placement around the house. Really,,,you should give this brush a try!

Good brush for Huskies!
This is a great brush. I have a furminator, undercoat rake, and two other types of brushes. This is my go-to brush. I have 2 large huskies and they blow their undercoats about 2-3 times per year. Other brushes either pull the fur out which annoys my dogs, or only get small amounts out, so then I'm brushing for hours. I can get nearly all of the under coat out of a 8"x8" section of my dogs in about 10 minutes. If you have a husky you will know why it takes so long. My female normally doesn't like being brushed and she tolerates this brush much longer than usual. I do suggest using small gentle strokes, this pulls more of the undercoat out in a small section than pulling it through their coat as this tends to yank the fur out (with any brush). The retractable bristles are great and make clean up really easy. I see some of the bristles (they are wire) bending but I'm not certain how that will affect the performance of the brush as of yet. Definitely w great brush if you have huskies!

Button sticks EVERY SINGLE TIME so it's time consuming to brush my Alaskan Malamutes.
It's a great brush and works well with my Alaskan Malamutes. However, the button sticks every single time, whether I'm trying to get the hair off or trying to get the brush to come back out. I have to bang it really hard on the ground to get the button to un-stick. Other than that it's an excellent brush and hasn't broke yet. I have to empty it after about 2-3 strokes though. So with the button sticking it takes more time than I would like. *Update 10-02-16* I would not recommend this brush for Alaskan Malamutes. It hasn't broken yet so that's good. Moved down to 3 stars. I will not buy this brush again unless every brush I buy after this one breaks haha then in that case I will.

FINALLY! A brush that my doggie likes!!!
She's 9 now. How did I not know about this brush?! It gently works through her double coat without causing any pulling, and feels good to her, especially on her chest and under her ears, like a good scratch-petting! I love how with the flick of your thumb you can retract the metal teeth, slide the hair off, then continue brushing, without breaking the rhythm of your dog's mindset.

Buy it !
Have got a very moulty black and white Sprollie,I’ve never seen a dog that sheds so much, the floor is like the prairie Wild West with balls of hair every day.Can easily get a carrier bag full of hair off him daily, but nothing wrong with him he’s a healthy sprightly 14 yr old.Ordered this brush last week, and it’s great ! Thought would be bit plasticky gimmicky with the retractable head bit but it’s not at all. Lightweight, easy in the hand, teeth are quite sharp, but the old dog doesn’t mind it,it still seems quite gentle. It took out a lot of his fine long white hair quickly, more than other brushes I’ve had.And the retractable bit is great- push button, hair just lifts off cleanly, nothing left to pick off , like other brushes.Strong handle, good design.
