I am revising my rating from 3 to 5, after 4 months' use. Now saying "Where has this been all my life?" Throwing out those flimsy steamer baskets. Yhis a great product at a very low price. It has one problem: heat vulnerability of the handles. There is a huge warning everywhere, which I ignored and learned the hard way but with no damage. I smelled that smell of plastic burning and yup, that was the warning. The burner or gas flames cannot extend beyond the diameter of the pot, not one bit, because the plastic handles on the pot will emit toxic fumes when heated. I thought it would take forever to boil water but the fairly thin metal transmits heat FAST! Once I moved the pot to a smaller burner and figured out how high to set the flame, it's been great! Fast, reliable, consistent, and east to clean. Better than all others. Be sure and look at the dimensions described by seller. Nice wide steamer part is a plus.

We purchased this steamer to cook many types of dumplings, vegetables, and seafood. We are pleased with ease of use and the versatility of this steamer. Cleanup has been easy!

I use this pot to steam just about everything. It’s quality built, the size is just right, easy to clean, cooks my food perfectly and very easy to use.

I nearly didn't buy this pan because of reviews that talked about melting handles. I've been using it regularly for a few months and in my experience the handles have never even gotten hot. They are always cool to the touch.I have an electric stove and only use burners that fit the pans I'm using and I think this is the key. If you have a gas or propane stove, just make sure the flames don't come up the sides of the pan. I think that would be true of any pan on a gas or propane stove.This little steamer has been the perfect size for us. We are a retired couple and it works for everything we need it for. The steamer pan sits squarely on the bottom pan. And by the way, the bottom pan makes a nice sauce pan as well. The lid fits either pan well.

I bought this double boiler to try out after reading a bunch of positive reviews, but 1&1/2 years into use the handles are melting.From the first time I used the boiler I would smell a smell like burning plastic, but I didn’t really think anything of it because it gets the job done.Today I was washing it and noticed black char coming off on my hands, I turned it over and realized just how close the handles were to breaking off.I have been using it as it was intended to be used, I have a gas stove and I typically use it on low flame when I’m using this product to steam anything.I came back to leave a review to hopefully help someone else out, thank goodness the handles didn’t break off while I was carrying it full of hot water! I’ll probably still use it, I’ll just carry it with potholders, I just wanted to give the next buyer a heads up.
