They're not really that adjustable. I have a narrow face and they are not flush around my eyes.

These really help with the teary eyes
These goggles really made a difference for me. I was skeptical that goggles would end the tears streaming down my face whenever I cut an onion, but I was surprised to learn how well these goggles worked. I bought some for my daughter also and she is happily chopping onions with out all the tears and smeared mascara.

Purchased for medical reasons
I bought this item for my mother. A little background information will explain why. A year ago, my mom had eyelid lift surgery, because her upper eyelids drooped too much for her to have required cataract surgery. The surgery was partially successful. Her eyelid is now high enough for the cataract surgery, but does not close properly. This means she has chronic dry eye. The surgery also resulted in double vision. Her doctor recommended onion glasses to help keep her eye moisturized. She had been wearing rather ugly ones purchased at BB&B. She wanted something a little more understated that would go with any outfit and not draw attention to her. Black is always a good choice. After painting the inside of the right lens with black nail polish, my mother lives them. She says they fit well and the lining does not irritate her nose like the lining in her old ones. Her only complaint has been the opening at the outer edge of the lens (near the ear piece), which I filled with nail polish. The nail polish is necessary to obscure the vision of her right eye to control the double vision. We're hoping for more progress with the double vision and the dry eye, but until then. Onion glasses/goggles will be our friend! At under $10 a pair, these are a good deal.

Hate to report that these don't work.
I bought these as a gift for my mom. She just tried them on and cut an onion and her eyes teared up in seconds. We both tried them on and there isn't an airtight seal. There is even an opening on the side where the temporal area is, so I am not sure how these are advertised as air tight. I am returning these for a refund.

Not as snug as I had hoped
These goggles were a helluva lot better than just toughing it out, but weren't as snug of a fit as I had hoped for. Some of the "aromatics" still got to my eyes, but I could still see by the time the onion was chopped, which was a major improvement. You won't be in GQ with these goggles on, but your eyes won't be on fire either.

Not suitable for smaller faces but nicely made!
This product is very nicely manufactured and the lenses, double layered, are surprisingly clear, the nose piece not forming an obstruction in one's field of view. That said, most unfortunately these lenses do not fit a smaller-mid sized woman's face. (I wear glasses that are 4.75 inches corner to corner. My best guess is that these would likely fit a person whose glasses width runs around 5.25 inches across the front, edge to edge.) There are large gaps all around the rubber gasket, defeating its purpose. What a shame that sizing is not available on these. Without adjustable fit at the face, there is no hope that these will fit someone who is not larger proportioned around the eyes. I strongly recommend that accurate sizing guidelines be added to the Amazon description, to help the purchaser determine whether these are likely to prevent air coming in--or not.
