Nice shirt, but...
The Blackhawk! women's lightweight tactical shirt is a really nice shirt, but it has a few drawbacks. The Look: this is a really sharp-looking tactical shirt. It is a tactical shirt, so don't expect it to be overly stylish or feminine. For a tac shirt, it is attractive, with a decent balance between form and function. The Fit: I think that the fit runs a little small in the shoulders, and could be more form-fitting at the waist, but maybe that's just me. I have always had big shoulders, and right now I am packing about 35 extra pounds. I normally fit a 14-16 dress blouse, so I went with the large. I think it would have been a toss-up as to whether the XL would be better. There isn't a lot of room for movement in the shoulders of the large. Granted, yesterday I was wearing a thermal shirt underneath for warmth but it was thin (Cuddleduds). Today I am just wearing the Blackhawk! and it still feels a little restrictive in the shoulders. On the other hand, I think that going to an XL would end up looking like I was wearing a duffel bag because there isn't as much curve cut into the waist area as it seems to be in the image. The Fabric: this really is a light, summer weight shirt. It has mesh across the upper back (across the shoulder area), and also on the backs of the chest pockets. The seams are actually comfortable enough to not need an undershirt, and that's a big plus in my book. The fabric also definitely has water repellant qualities. When I was taking the shirts out of the washer, they had water droplets on them. It doesn't seem to interfere with the breathability of the shirt, though. The Colors: I wish there were more options (this would look good in a lighter blue or burgundy) for color than the standard black, navy, brown, khaki, or drab green. It is, after all, a shirt for women, and a lot of companies are allowing more flexibility in uniform choices these days. There's not even a choice for plain white or cream. I ordered the navy, khaki, and chocolate brown. The colors are darker than the images in the product description, and are not nearly as rich and vibrant. The navy appears almost black, while the khaki is more of a dark tan. The chocolate brown is dark, as well, but at least it is obviously brown. The Design: the design of the shirt is nice. It is obviously designed for a women, and not a scaled-down replica of a man's duty shirt. The pockets are well-placed and of a good size. The left breast pocket has a small D-ring on the inside corner of the flap that would be good for hanging an ID badge.Overall, I think this is a really nice shirt. My only complaint is that Blackhawk! may have gone a little overboard with reducing the cut of the shoulders (I have never seen a woman in the field who had small shoulders), but not far enough in trimming the waistline. Even so, this is a very functional shirt and a great option compared to most of the "women's" tactical shirts I have seen.

My new favorite work shirt!!! (stagehand / live entertainment technician)
I'm a professional stagehand by trade & am often required to wear black clothes during show calls. After years of purchasing black shirts & pants from stores like REI/EMS/Target/etc... I decided to check out women's tactical gear online because I cannot find a store that adequately stocks tactical clothing for women in New England (Work 'N' Gear has 5.11 clothing for men, but not women!!). I haven't been able to find any durable/long lasting black shirts that won't fade or rip easy... until NOW! To make things even better this shirt has a feminine/fitted cut that flatters & my boyfriend (also a live tech in the entertainment business) complimented me as soon as I tried it on (didn't even have to fish for one) :) The only thing negative thing I can say is maybe I should have ordered a small instead of a medium (right now I'm approx. 5'8" 130lbs. & 34B if that helps) HOWEVER the medium isn't so big that I'm swimming in it or looks like pajamas & I like the length. I'll probably end up purchasing a smaller size in the future, as my weight does tend to fluctuate throughout the year. I hope the smaller size's length is adequate!!

Fit is perfect for me.
I posted somewhat small, because I got an xl, only size available. I would normally buy a large but this fits me perfect. I plan to wear it both open and closed. It buttons all the way down without it being snug thru the hips. Has great arm range for movement. Not having own a tact shirt before I expected the pockets to be bigger, so I would like to know what others carry. Hence 4 stars instead of 5

PERFECT for ME!
I would put this up to my 5.11 uniform shirts any day. Well made. I ordered a women's XL as others suggested it runs small. I usually get a large and this fits pretty good. I'm 5'6", 40" bust. Very long, so no worries about keeping it tucked in. For the price, I couldn't be happier. Sorry 5.11, I'm not paying your $54.95 anymore!

Not real comfortable or long enough for me
I like the shirt...sort of. A bit tight in the shoulders, I really don't like the material, rather stiff and uncomfortable. I am rather short and it could even be longer on me and I got an XXL. Looks nice otherwise. I have other regular shirts that work better for CCW.

smart design ruined by uncomfortable fabric
It's a great design except for the fabric, but I live in the Arizona desert and the fabric makes me feel like I am wearing a plastic bag. I can't stand wearing it so it has hung in the closet for 2 years.

Good shirt for work
Hey ladies, This is a good tactical shirt. Great pockets, comfortable cut, performance fabric and feminine cut. What else can you ask for?
