Bought it for my husband since we are going on a trip to meet the author! It was already autographed to someone else! So we have to rip out a page to get it autographed to us when we go to Egypt later this year! Otherwise great book!

Dr. Zahi Hawass has documented his discovery of ancient Egypts spectacular past with passion, color, detail and a priceless plethora of wonderful photo's of his archaeogical finds. His work, dedication, respect and reverence for these newly found Egyption relics explained in his book -"Secrets From The Sand" comes shining through as adventurous and thrilling experiences bound to fascinate and inspire any reader as well as all potential and budding young Egyptologists. His down to earth research of how some of these remaining ruins of gigantic statues, temples and above all the mysterious Pyramids of Giza were constructed without the aid of slaves is outstanding. His observations of the many Manufacturers, Merchants, Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Brewmaster, Bakers, Artists, Scribes and lifestyles which existed in Egypt over 5000 years ago is a riveting enlightment. This is a book you will want to keep. I treasure "Secrets From The Sand" and plan to read more Dr. Hawass's writings.

I absolutely love this book! I have been a Zahi Hawass fan for years, and I especially love all of the personal memories and events he has included in this book. It is easy to read and very hard to put down. It is such a shame that Dr. Hawass is not in charge of the antiquities in Egypt anymore. Read this book and you will know why he was and is the perfect man for the job. It is a story told with love, humor, and passion for a career in protecting Egypt's remarkable past.

Specialized subject matter like this are not the easiest things to find and often, when you do find them, they are overpriced. Hawass is the leading Egyptologist in the world and getting his book at a reasonable price is a find. My son, studying archaeology, has seen Hawass give talks and lectures and was thrilled to be able to read his work somewhere besides a library. Great find at a great price. Delivered promptly. No complaints whatsoever.

I received this book in a timely manner. Boy...what a good book. Anyone interested in Dr. Hawass and his career will not be disappointed. I started reading this the minute it arrived at the house. He tells a very interesting story of his life leading up to where he is today. And lots of great pictures. I wish we could see more of Chassing Mummies on the History Channel. You will love this book!!

Beautiful book and great reference on Egypt from one of most knowledgeable men on the subject! Worth every penny I paid for it!

I have several books by Zahi Hawass, and this is probably my favorite. I would love to meet this man in person, as his spirit of adventure must be greatly contagious! I love this book; the stories he shares, and the photography is fantastic! My hope is to someday visit some of these sights. I guarantee you won't be disappointed with this visit to Egypt's past.

this book is by the famous egyptologist zahi hawass it tells you all about spectacular finds in egypt it tells you about excavasions of spectacular discoveries in egypt, and his struggles to save the monuments.this book is full of unpublished photographs which takes the reader all over egypt including the famous monuments at giza and the sphinx and the great pyramids and newly discovered tombs and the workers who built the tombs,he preserves sites of tremendous pressure of tourism,he takes you into some of the famous tombs like the valley of the golden mummies, if you are into ancient egyptian mummies and history of egypt then i would recommend this book.

Brillaint it arrived on time bought this for my friends birthday and she loves it. It has all about the egyptian era and also about his life.
