Dog loves these; I love their one-ingredient list
My dog loves these. I love that there's only one ingredient on the list. There aren't any "extras" prone to making my dog sick. It works great as a high value treat; we use it as a reward for longer puzzle and scent games. It's convenient and easy to give, and highly enjoyed.Speaking to the other reviewers' comments:* I purchased the 8oz bag, not the 1lb bag, and can only speak to the size in the smaller bag, which I would describe as 'adequate'. These are tendons, which means they're going to come in slightly different shapes/sizes as different tendons in any animal differ. They aren't overly processed, so they aren't going to come in the cute cookie cutter identically sized shapes you might be used to from other suppliers. You can see that from the bag, though.* Choking: my dog is fine. He's a 50-55lb GSD mix. Larger pieces actually encourage your dog to chew more, and the pieces that I've found (8oz bag, granted, which are supposedly a bit bigger) have been appropriately sized. Now, some dogs are simply gulpers by nature. You should supervise anything you give to your dog, especially if you think he'll gulp it on down. I'd use extra caution for bigger dogs, or inexperienced puppies. You can also teach/train a gulper to chew their food. The bigger the piece, the safer it actually is.* The smell: my dog loves it! It isn't appetizing to me as a human, but it shouldn't be. It's a tendon, right? I don't want to eat that. My dog does. I'm sure it'd smell much more appetizing if it were less appetizing and also more harmful to my dog, ie, if it had a longer ingredient list and was less healthy for him. This treat's for him and him alone, so I definitely prefer it be the way he prefers it. All that being said, I don't find it particularly gross or overpowering. The worst part of this bag is the price. I haven't dared buy the 1lb bag given the comments here, but would appreciate an option to buy them cheaper in bulk (with the same size) and therefore feed more frequently. As such, it's something I buy and feed on occasion as a higher value treat. I'll keep buying more as is.

Long lasting
My dog loves these. They are long lasting. I have bought the bones for my dogs but they leave an oily residue. These seem to last about as long and are much cleaner.

Good bones my dog loves!
My dog also loves these bones but gets them wet and swallows them whole which is what I was trying to avoid. So she can have one and then it goes away at a certain point. Awww that’s sad but she’s ok with that! So I would say these bones are a big hit.

Natural dog treats
I have 3 dogs. A 13 year old female large mutt, 3 year old male golden retriever, and a 16 week old female golden retriever puppy.I’ve been testing all kinds of different natural treats. One important thing to note is that my 3 year old golden does not care for food. He won’t even take sandwich meat or cheese (what!?). It’s been so hard to find something that he likes. These occupy my puppies time which is what I’m going for. They’re a good size and it takes a little to get through them. It didn’t cause upset stomach or diarrhea at all for all 3 of them. It came with a lot so it’s also worth the cost. My main goal is to get natural treats that are long lasting that is also healthy. This fits my needs!

Splinters
These broke into very sharp small pieces all over the floor, actually dangerous to anyone walking barefoot. Seemed like it could be pretty bad if my dog swallowed any of the pieces so I'm throwing the bag away. Really disappointed to throw away the money, but it's better than any of us getting hurt. This picture doesn't really do it justice, the first two were shattered into many, many pieces. This was the last one, where I saw it was never going to get any better.

Several bad bags in a row
We have been buying these regularly for a while now. Our dog loves them and goes crazy for them. However, the last 3 bags we have gotten have been bad and getting worse. The first issue was a bag that looked normal but had one very thick large tendon that looked like several fused together. We thought the dog would love it. It was inedible for him he couldn’t even chew it and quickly gave up. We threw it away and ordered a new bag. That bag arrived with two normal tendons and the rest all looked like the inedible one, but thinner (sort of like a pigs ear size/shape). We thought it being thinner he might be able to eat that one. We very quickly realized it was just splintering off into very sharp bits and we took it away.Amazon replaced that bag when we let them know, but the replacement bag was the final straw. There are almost no regular tendons in the bag. I’d say maybe one? The rest are all tiny little, what almost look like scraps and end pieces they couldn’t use elsewhere. They are horrible. We fortunately have a very little guy, and even though he wasn’t interested in the scrap pieces, they weren’t harmful looking for him. If I had a large dog and they sent me what amount to basically a bag of choking hazards… I would be livid.Anyways these are a really good product when they are. And sometimes you get three bad bags in a row. But that’s it for us. We won’t be buying this brand again unfortunately.

Only chew that is actually long lasting!
I have a 1 year old cocker spaniel puppy who is a BIG chewer. We’ve tried so many “long-lasting” chew sticks and he usually chews through them in minutes! Nature Gnaws are the only ones I’ve found that takes him hours, sometimes days to get through! They have been a lifesaver in helping us get through the puppy stage. I’ve gotten all varieties of Nature Gnaws—the beef tendons, bully sticks, variety pack, etc. and they are all so well worth the money. I always make sure to have them on hand when company is coming over because it keeps my puppy so calm and occupied. The only slight drawback is that they are kind of stinky when chewed, but I think that is the same with all dog chews. They don’t crumble or make a mess like other chews. We will be purchasing these for many years to come!
