I have bought many soft material dog beds. Washing them became a problem when they were large. Some came out of shape if they were smaller or our little dog Sasha would tear the innards out. With the plastic waterproof I can put any type of soft fillers in that or easy changeable and washable. I can clean and disinfectant the plastic. I have a nice clean bed for a happy little Sasha.
