![The Gentlemen [DVD]+[Blu-Ray] (English audio)](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51QLfbnl+hL._AC_SR38,50_.jpg)

From writer/director Guy Ritchie comes The Gentlemen, a star-studded sophisticated action comedy. The Gentlemen follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey), who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he's looking to cash out of the business forever, it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him (featuring an all-star ensemble cast including Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant).Bonus Content: Includes Blu-ray, DVD and a digital copy of The Gentlemen (Digital Copy redemption code subject to expiration. See product insert for details.) Best Gentlemanly Quips Glossary of Cannabis Behind the Scenes of The Gentlemen Photo Gallery Review: Stunningly good film (7.09on Imdb seems about right) - I was rather sceptical to begin with. The former Mr Madonna is surely one of the most overrated directors in modern cinema. A one hit wonder who squeezed the one good idea he had until all that was left was a piece of dried and frizzled bits of squashed lemon. Imagine therefore my surprise at this. To some extent, it is rehashing familiar ground. Lots of comedy cockney gangsterism, some neat twists and turns, and suitably oddball characters. But it actually worked! Extraordinarily well, in fact. The narrative technique seemed quite familiar, but what Ritchie did with it was really rather splendid. The fanciful characters were not just caricatures, but actually had some depth to them. Colin Farrell was superb, so was Matthew McC, but the real star was Hugh Grant as sleazy tabloid journalist both narrating the frame, and as an essential plot device. Add to that some sly allusions to Charlie Hunnam's breakout role as gay twink in Queer as Folk, and Grant's dirty old man routine became even funnier. The ending was a little bit too self-referential, but otherwise this turned out to be a wonderful gem of a movie: a splendid script, excellent dialogue, superb acting, and a director who managed to keep his worst instincts under control, and who showed instead that there is some substance to the hype, after all. One of the best films I have seen in a long while, and one that I can only recommend: highly, warmly, and enthusiastically. One of the few movies I will watch again and again. Review: Such quality Colin Farrell - brilliant - Series or film? Both excellent. If you’ve watched the series, watch the film (if you’ve watched the film, watch the series ! )

Suprisingly Good
Usually ignore Ritchie's films these days but this was pretty decent. Still falls into the usual cheesiness with the grime video stuff but I can forgive it as it is mostly pretty enjoyable. Hugh Grant was suprisingly excellent and Jax Teller with a geordie accent! (yes I know he is actually a geordie). Top Stuff.

Just wow...
From production value, to acting, cinematography, story, etc. This movie really has it all. An absure masterclass from Guy Ritchie showing that when all the ingredients are correct you have a recipe for success, unfaltering success that will hold up for years to come. It's hard to pick a stand out performance in this movie as all the large names featured in this put on stellar performances. The first time I'm truly stumped to make a choice in this regard. You have to watch this and you won't be disappointed!

Really enjoyed this film
This film proved to be very entertaining once we'd got past what felt like a rather slow 20 mins at the beginning. I must admit, I never thought I'd see Hugh Grant in a role like this as I often find it hard to take him seriously as an actor, but credit where credit is due - he totally pulled this one out the bag & killed it. There was plenty of stuff to keep us amused (even spotting actors we know from other series such as "Shakira" working in the takeaway) and once it got going the film just flowed. Plenty of action, plot twists & dark comedy moments that make a film entertaining. This is my kind of film & I'm glad we took the chance to watch it. If you like Guy Richie movies then this is just as good as his other films & I would totally recommend. A Britsh Crime black-comedy is probably a fitting description. It was quite a long movie, but I didn't find myself checking the time or getting bored like I often do with movies. My other half also enjoyed it & commended my choice of film, given some of the trash we have watched recently due to lockdown. I can't say much more without giving the plot away - watch it. Would totally recommend.

Enjoyable but getting cliche' and hamy.
Its called the Gentleman, presumably because it just a movie with Blokes in (almost) The Good, Charlie Hunnam's gravitas and Colin Ferrel's charm, camp and off the wall Hugh Grant performance, who did too much heavy lifting with the storyline exposition, the rest of the cast were all good or great Although immensely watchable, I was a little unsettled out by the bad language, normalisation of racism, and trivialisation of murder, mixed in with quite deliberately camp, hammy acting and humor. Nevertheless I would recommend the Movie, just not for everyone, but thats OK I was put in mind of Rick and Morty's send up of the heist movie as far as the plot was concerned, contrived, convoluted and improbable. Guy Ritchie can do this stuff soe well and it comes off. BUT it still feels like a dead end creatively.

Brilliant Movie!
Fantastic movie with equally just as good acting. It was for me, personally my first Guy Richie movie, and i really enjoyed it. It was a change to watch a British themed movie and it was very enjoyable. The humour was easier to understand. Had great cast of actors who all played their role really well. Found myself laughing out loud to the movie a fair few times. It has a little bit of blood, no gore, no sex, very little violence. It's all implied. Does a really good job of being a movie that shows a lot without actually "showing" Would recommend for people into Guy Richie movies, also British movies, and people who like a lot of twists and turns in plot in movies.
