Like blender my mother had
I like that the pitcher is glass. I love the size of the smoothie cup. It’s strong. I can add spinach and it gets completely pulverized as does any fruit I have frozen that I add.The food processor is also nice.As to the leak issue. Yes, I have occasionally found a small amount of an odd grey grease like substance at the bottom of the blade on the underside. I know for a fact this is not the liquid in my blender due to the color. For instance, if I make a smoothie with turmeric and the small leaky substance is a grey blue, it is not the liquid from inside the blender or the smoothie cup. Also, it is one solid piece of metal. The leak does not come from the gasket not being set correctly. I called Oster. They kindly send me a new blade.Since this little leak only happens occasionally and is very small amount, I am not too concerned. One theory I have is that if there is any moisture in that tiny hole in the underside of the blade where it sits on the motor, when you run it you will get a bit of “goo” there. I try to make sure that after I wash it that it sits in my drainer on its side so no moisture stays in the hole and also the blade and gasket dry as well. This is such a minor issue for me that I decided not to downgrade a star. It’s a little noisy but it’s fast. It’s better quality in my opinion than the Ninja we tried prior to this with the tower blade I was certain I would injure myself with.So far so good. If you are over 60 and want a blender similar to what you were raised with but with more power for ice crushing and decent smoothies, this is a good choice.I don’t leave it out on display. I put my stuff away for clean counters. Even though it is not true stainless steel on the motor base, I still think it is nice looking if you did want to leave it out. The quality is in the motor and the glass pitcher, not the way the motor has been covered in silver plastic, and I’m okay with that.

See UPDATE: Original post==>I think this is a great product.I did not have any issues, its powerful!
Newest update 09/07/2024: A tab broke off from the food processor, I bought the insurance. Full replacement! I saved the glass blender pitcher, and it fits the newest Oster Pro Series 2-in-1 Kitchen System with XL 9-Cup Tritan Jar, Food Processor and Tamper Tool, Dark Blue !!! Bonus! The glass blender pitcher actually extends the life of the motor due to the firmness of the glass, less vibration, and strength. UPDATE: I have used this for 3 years 5 months almost every day!!! Breakfast for me is a smoothie with frozen blends of fruits, carrot chunks, multiple leafy greens, a few unfrozen fruits, honey topped off with ice from my freezer (which is way cold) so the ice is solid. I took it on a vacation a couple of times. I am NOT a health nut, I'm hoping these smoothies will balance things out!!!! Powerful, simple to use, great smoothies, along with a food processor. Can't beat it. I'd recommend it to my family, friends, and even enemies!!!!!Original post==>I think this is a great product.I did not have any issues, its powerful! Price isn't bad.

Great Blender!
So this is my first blender that I’ve had in my home in years !! I decided to buy one after I decided to start a healthier eating regiment and saw that making smoothies would work really well into my needs.I looked at the ninja first being that’s the first item you think of when you shop for smoothie makers. My big issue with the Ninja was the plastic containers and mechanisms. I felt for that kind of money it should be at least glass for the pitcher. Yes! small detail considering most blenders are plastic but my experience with plastic shows that it tends to crack over time. However this very small detail caused me to shop around and thank God I did.I read the reviews and very few people had something negative to say about it. My main concern was I wanted a blender that really made me a “smoothie” I wanted it to be a velvety texture, not choppy. This does exactly that and more , I mean wow very powerful blender. I also love the food processor attachment it helps me to make my sauces etc. The only down side is that container is plastic but I can live with that being that is not something I use often. The other somewhat downside is it is a bit loud. I know I know it’s a blender but I find it to be a bit louder then normal blenders. But who knows, remember I haven’t had a blender in over 10 years! If your looking for a powerful blender that doesn’t cost you a small fortune here it is ! It gets the job done and inspires you to use for different things!
