Very nice paint.
As others have noted, the paint is rather thin. Having said that I was very pleased with the performance of the paint and the brassy - gold color. I used it on metal and only applied one coat due to time constraints. A second coat will get added soon. I only needed an ounce of the stuff and wish I could have gotten a much smaller container.

Updated a year later.
When mixed and applied per the directions this stuff is terrific! I was unable to get any gold paint that would survive the summer outdoors. This stuff is still beautiful after two summers. It has a nice, rich gold color that appears to be long lasting. You can see the tiny gold flakes in the paint. It applied very easily with no fuss and mixed up easily. I use it on a big outdoor sun plaque and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Update as of Sept. 8, 2025: After my second use a year later, the gold paint will not mix no matter how you do it or how long you mix it. There are always black streaks. The paint has become unusable. I’ll still give it five stars because it works good when it’s fresh.

DURABLE
PRO - Many “gold” paints in the marketplace are prone to fading in sunlight. Developed specifically for use on boats, this paint has UV protection blended in. It applies easily. Color is perfect - not too “brassy” - with a semi-gloss finish. Excellent for cove stripes, this paint is also perfect for lettering or numbering on outdoor signs. CON - Needs to be stirred frequently to keep the color even. Somewhat expensive for a small can.

Weather resistant
My dad passed away in 2022. On his headstone, I had the company do his last name large and in Gold letters. They showed me they used a craft paint. It had started fading. I found this. It goes on smoothly. It dries quickly, the finish is amazing. The letters really stand out nicely now. This is obviously a weather resistant paint. I’m so glad I found it!

Beautiful color
Very nice gold flake coloring. On the thin side so will require multiple coats.

Three coats and it looks nice but it isn't durable at all.
I used this to paint the runners on ny sleigh(I'm a professional Santa Claus) and while working on the sleigh I stepped on the runner and my boot dented the paint. Clearly I'll need to cover the paint with something for this to work...for the price point though it leaves me disappointed. It was sold as durable...and bumping the paint with anything hard dents it or tears it up...reminds me of the film on scratch tickets almost...

Loved it, but there are "buts"
Wow, this paint has awesome flow. It makes your job easy If you are at all decent at painting (and if you think there's nothing to painting or varnishing, then you might not get the same results). I had to keep moving the ladder to paint the boat's cove stripe. Even when I lost a perfect wet edge, it was fine. Just do your airplane landings and takeoffs, it's forgiving paint. BUT -- be sure to follow the directions. Duh! Of course, I thought I knew better and tried a disposable foam brush; the paint went on too thin. And, like they say, you need to continually stir the paint or you will get uneven results. BUT -- it is not glossy. The finish is satin and chalky, but worse, rain / runoff stains the paint; I couldn't remove the stains with either more clean water or with mineral spirits. I coated it with Awlgrip's Awlcare after I did the last two coats (with a brush; after two, or was it four, coats with a foam brush - and if you try foam, use a real Jen brush, the generic ones turn into floppy noodles) The Awlcare kept the rain from creating streaks. (I'm concerned: Awlcare only lasts a few months.) The instructions say paint w/ a clear gloss if you want it to look like that gold rim around your grandmother's ash tray. (OK, they didn't exactly say it that way.) We had just painted the boat; I didn't want to risk clear drips. (At least I can see gold drips, not that I had drips with this product.) I did the cove and "do dads" in 80-85 degree weather with 70% or more humidity. It dried very quickly. I put on an additional coat much sooner than the instructions indicated -- basically when over paint on the masking tape was dry. It worked. (Only two coats in a 24 hour day, though.) Fineline tape ripped off very nicely, giving a clean edge and regular blue tape worked OK - no peel off, the blue just didn't seal as well. (Thank you Total Boat! No razor blades needed.) The paint is very soft for many days - unless it's in direct sun. That lets you have time to scrape off any goofs, such as overpaint or bleeding under your tape. The spots that were in direct sun seemed to soften back up with generous water misting. My test board went rock hard (in the garage, no sun) within a week. The initial softness also means you will need to take care. Something like a fender rub will probably take it off.
