Great product - sounds great and connects easily!
It’s perfect. Very sleek and phenomenal sound for it size just like I have come to expect from Bose. Bluetooth connection was simple. It’s added a whole lot to my TV experience at a reasonable price..

Bose Compact TV Subwoofer is a Great Value!
I recently bought this compact Bose soundbar on Amazon for $199.00. I can honestly say that it exceeds my expectations! Right out of the box you get the sense it’s a high quality product! The construction is solid and robust. My Bose soundbar is connected a recent model Samsung 32” QLED television via the HDMI Arc terminal. The audio quality is quite good IMO. Blindfolded you would swear the speaker was much larger. It’s got great high frequency response and the middle frequencies are crisp, balanced, possessing outside speech clarity. The bass is somewhat attenuated but given the compact size of the speaker it’s still very respectable. If you’re so inclined you can connect compatible Bose subwoofer to supplement the bass frequencies. I believe the Bose subwoofer represents a terrific value in the crowded home speaker market. I’m giving it 5 Stars since it exceeds my expectations!

Great!
October 2026: We blew out the speakers on our TV so purchased this Bose unit during Amazon's Prime Days event. It arrived last night and we are very pleased. It has a nice warm sound quality with the ability to adjust the bass frequency. And it gets loud. The only "negative" thing, I wish it had the ability to pair with the TVs remote. Now we have three remotes to deal with: TV, internet box and the sound bar. I recommend this sound bar.

Brand name soundbar for a reasonable price
If you're looking for an easy, no-fuss way to massively upgrade your television’s built-in sound without spending a fortune, the Bose TV Speaker is a fantastic compact option. I bought this looking for something straightforward to clear up muddy TV audio, and it has easily met every expectation. Given its very reasonable price point, especially for a premium brand like Bose, the sound quality you get out of this small unit is impressive. Dialogue immediately becomes crisp, clear, and centered, making movies and TV shows much easier to follow without constantly having to ride the volume button during loud scenes. The setup process couldn't be simpler, taking less than five minutes right out of the box. Connecting via a single HDMI-ARC cable or optical cable allows the speaker to seamlessly sync with your TV remote, turning on and off automatically with your television. The unit itself has a sleek, low-profile design that sits unobtrusively under almost any TV size or fits neatly onto a floating shelf without blocking the screen or IR sensor. It also features built-in Bluetooth connectivity, which makes it super convenient to quickly pair your phone or tablet and stream music or podcasts around the room when the TV is off. While it obviously doesn't offer the deep, room-shaking bass of a multi-piece system with a dedicated external subwoofer, it does feature a dedicated "Bass" boost button on the included remote that adds a nice, warm low-end punch to action scenes and music. There is also a dedicated "Dialogue Mode" that enhances vocal clarity even further, which is a game-changer for news, documentaries, or dialogue-heavy dramas. If you want a reliable, great-sounding, space-saving soundbar that delivers rich Bose audio quality without a steep price tag, this is a fantastic value purchase that easily outperforms its compact footprint.

Nice speaker
Normally I consume audio using my Bose QuietComfort 20 noise-canceling earbuds. I've been using those for about six years now, and I used Bose noise canceling headphones before that. I've always loved them so much that I've never really had much need for PC speakers. So the ones I always used to use cost about 40 dollars. But recently a friend convinced me to get this Bose TV Speaker Soundbar, for my PC. It was effortless to install. I just plugged the optical into my motherboard, which is 4 years old. So I doubt anyone will have issues plugging this in. I don't know how to scientifically measure the quality of a speaker. I listened to a 20khz sine wave frequency sweep, and I believe I heard all the tones, and there weren't any dips that I could perceive. Beyond that, I could say that I tried listening to a YouTube video that I had previously only listened to on speakers, many times. And after listening to that same song using this soundbar, I was able to hear parts of the song I hadn't heard before. The only issue I had with this device is that it turns itself off automatically. So every time I'd go to bed, or take a nap, I'd wake up and have to press the darn button on the remote again. This was frustrating since the speaker takes about 2-3 seconds to boot up. So usually I'd play a YouTube video, realize the sound isn't on, wait for it to boot, and then need to rewind the video. THANKFULLY there's a simple solution I learned about on Reddit for solving this! All I needed to do was (1) turn it on, and (2) hold the power button down on the remote for 5 seconds. Then the LED on the speaker pulsed an amber color, which indicates that "auto off" has been disabled. Hooray! I wish this had been the factory default though.

Not Worth It!!
This Bose TV Speaker has pretty good sound quality for the tv because it does sound better than the tv speakers and better volume and the speech is a little clearer, but that's about as far as it goes. I purchased this sound bar after looking at many, but mostly because I have been a Bose fan for many decades and in the days of them becoming to where they are now everything was exceptional until I received this product. Bose dropped the ball on this one and seem to be living now off their name of top-quality products and service in the past and you know what starts to happen when you cut back on the quality, you start to lose your long time customers and no repurchase's from most new ones so business starts to decline, and we all know what has happened to big companies in the past. You charge high dollars so put back in the quality you use too. For two days I have been trying to get a simple question answered from them and no response. After purchasing this product, I have come to realize the only subwoofer I can add to this sound bar which has poor bass, is programed only for their brand, and their cheapest woofer starting at $500.00 plus, that is ridicules. The Bluetooth is version is 4.2, that came out around 2011 or 12 so outdated, much cheaper brands even have the newer versions, heck the remote is not even Bluetooth! You have to make sure no other devices have Bluetooth on to connect to a single device you want par and listen two, a lot of others allow two at once so you can switch back and forth. There is absolutely no way to turn on or control the sound bar if you lose the remote, battery goes bad or if the remote goes bad, but we all know that does not happen now does it? For a 300-dollar soundbar especially from Bose I expected more, half was for the name and the other half for the actual worth of the unit and to get more bass I need to spend over $500.00 more when other top brand units come with a sound bar for under $300.00. I should be able to connect other subwoofer brands to this unit but from all my checking only a couple of people have gotten lucky, I have two and neither one will work with this unit when I connected them, so It's kind of like I gotcha from Bose if you want to upgrade your sound bar for $500.00 plus more to Bose. Yes, looks like this one is going back to Bose. Update: I decided to keep the speaker even as disappointed as I am with this so outdated speaker and mine was made in 2023 and then 28 days after using it just stopped working after being on for about a hour and a half, it only blinks the two lights white 3 times and turns the tv side light green and does this over and over again and will not turn off unless you unplug it, plug it back up and light off a couple of minutes then automatically turns back on and starts the same process over and over, So much for quality Bose I did not even get a months' worth of use and thank goodness I had two days left to return, never again for me Bose. Service is nonexistent never got a answer for a simple question I sent earlier so just imagine how it is with a real problem.

Difficult to set up with TV.
As a bluetooth speaker for our phones, it is wonderful. As a TV soundbar for our older Sharp TV, it's a nightmare. The only feedback to using the remote is a small LED light on the front. I'll struggle with it a few more days but will probably end up returning it. Too bad; I love Bose speakers Update: my Sharp is too old to interface with this Bose TV Speaker. I connected it to my iMac via Bluetooth. Great sound!

INSANELY good for a small office/bedroom
I was looking for a small home office set up (10 X 12 room) and wanted something that was uncomplicated but also sounded really good given the room size. It's used primarily for music, but I'm often in meetings with up to 20 other people, so I wanted something with a voice clarity option. I figured I was going to have to sacrifice one for the other, but the speaker really delivers! What was most amazing to me was the level and quality of bass, which I didn't think was possible with a standalone sound bar, and a small sound bar at that. When I bought this, I also bought the bass module 500 which I've since returned, as it was completely unnecessary. The speaker produces a very balanced soundstage. I placed the soundbar across two studio monitor speaker stands with a 15 degree tilt, super highly recommended if you're planning to use this for a home office solution. This is absolutely not a speaker as a standalone in a larger room, but it's perfect for a small space. No subwoofer needed. You can literally feel the bass.

Great sound for the room — simple, reliable upgrade
I picked up the Bose TV Speaker to replace my old CineMate Bose system that finally died, and so far it’s been an excellent, hassle-free replacement. Setup was plug-and-play with my existing Bose TV’s optical out and it started working immediately. I haven’t used the Dialogue Enhancer feature, but even without it the speaker delivers clear, natural-sounding audio that suits my room very well. The unit is compact but sounds bigger than it looks. The bass has respectable weight for such a small speaker — not a home-theatre rumble, but enough to give action scenes and music some presence. The included remote is simple and intuitive, and overall build quality feels solid and understated like other Bose products. Pros: - Smooth setup — truly plug-and-play - Clear, balanced sound that fits the room nicely - Compact footprint; good for smaller living areas or bedrooms - Solid build and easy-to-use remote Cons: - Not a substitute for a full surround system if you want immersive multi-channel audio - Won’t match a dedicated subwoofer for deep bass Would recommend if you want an easy, reliable upgrade from an older compact Bose unit — great for improving everyday TV sound without fuss.

Big beautiful Bose sound
This is a truly excellent product that fully lives up to expectations. The sound is big and the complexity of setup is small, although to make it work with my older Sharp Aquos TV, which lacks HDMI ARC, I had to buy a dongle — an HDMI audio extractor that pulls the sound out of the main source HDMI and shunts it to an optical jack that can communicate properly with the Bose device using the supplied optical cable. More modern TVs won’t need that. For those whose TV had great video but the audio sucks, this is the cure. It would be worth it for full price but it was nice to get this one as a Prime Day door-buster sale item. I know the days of Bose products being made in Framingham are long gone but this particular item is built in Thailand, which is an ally or something like one. As an ABC shopper I’ll settle for that.
