Can't decide between those and the aluminum ones. How much is the weight difference? Any other pros/cons?

I use both. I have a joint condition that affects both hands and use both for yoga practices and plank positions. There is no difference in the weight. However I like the wooden ones better because of the grip—wood grasps better that metal. I’m 105lbs and they work great for me and do not budge.

I don't know the exact weight, but these are really light, I'd say less then 2lbs each

how high off the ground are the handles (to the bottom of the handle)?

About an inch man. If you do an iguana push-up (two hands on the one parrallette in a push-up) your knuckles hit the ground. I think they are a nice challenge but if you have really thick girthy hands, these may not be for you.
