Great post-hip surgery seat
I am a 225 lb female who bought this to use following a right hip replacement. I had an easy clean toilet seat which I could not use on top of this item. At Home Depot, I bought a standard seat for $5.98 and a pack of rubber toilet seat washers so I could tighten the installation bolts really well. (This riser comes with metal washers that could crack the porcelain if you tighten them too much.) I found the bolts provided would not fit through the washers, so I drilled the washers out to the correct size. Once this was all done, the install could be completed quite easily. I keep a screw driver in the bathroom and about once every 10 days I tighten the bolts. I like the fact that this seat stays securely in place, much better than the ones which only have the pressure screw in the front. I also like the fact that it uses a regular toilet seat, which means you have the same amount of room to do your business, wipe, etc. I am now 3 weeks post surgery and I have had an excellent experience with this seat. Yes, it gets dirty just like any other seat. I have been able to loosen it slightly and slip a cleaning cloth in around the areas that have any urine built up. This keeps it clean enough for now. I can highly recommend this item for others in similar circumstances.

Works Like a Dream
I'm a female, 70 years old, about 155 lbs, who recently had ankle surgery, and my left foot can't bear weight for 6 weeks. I started out using an older raised toilet seat inherited from my dad. It was very basic, with no arms and several metal brackets that slid under the old seat -- highly unstable, waggling about so much I almost fell off a couple of times. I also had great difficulty getting up and onto my knee scooter. I looked at other more expensive raised seats online but didn't like the look of those with the cut-out in the front. I saw no explanation for what it was for. I assume it's for men, but I was suspicious about how messy it might be for women. I finally saw the Drive Medical Premium Seat which was selling for a very good price. My husband installed it easily on our regular shaped toilet, and I love it. Since the old seat sits on top, I can even close the cover. It's been very stable, and it's so much easier to raise myself on one leg using the padded arms. I'm so satisfied with it that I decided to take the time to write this review. Simple, effective, inexpensive and just what I need.

Works well, but it will slide sideways.
I bought 2 for my upcoming hip surgery's. I installed both on round Delta toilets that are about 17 in tall. I also installed my Smart Bidet BB-1000R on one and a Brondel nonelectric seat on the other. I had to buy 6" carriage bolts so the bolt heads would fit the brackets. The riser worked well, is sturdy and feels safe as long as you're putting weight straight down on the handles. The riser will move side to side pretty easily with or without the bidet seat. It needs some rubber pads on the bottom to help keep it in place like the bidet mounting brackets have. It would be 5 Stars if they fixed this.

Drive toilet seat booster.
I bought this for my mom a few years ago before she died. She got a lot of use out of this and the gripper handles on both sides came in handy when she would get off and on the toilet. Not being a mechanic, the seat was a bit tricky to mount onto the toilet. It took me a few hours to install it. Thank goodness I have a power drill. It came in handy when I had to remove the booster seat for cleaning. The handles clip off and on so you can clean the booster seat. That was tricky too. You had to make sure you put them back in the right place. Luckily our toilet seat fit on top of the booster seat and the heavy metal bolts were the right length for putting the toilet seat back together on the booster seat. The wing nuts were tricky too as they screwed on the bolts underneath the back of the toilet. I had to hold the wing nut with one hand while I screwed on the toilet seat with the other. Like I said, I’m not a mechanic. My mom died a few years ago, March of 2022. She had congestive heart failure but lived to be 98! Of course she was taking a lot of medicine for her heart. I still use the booster seat. I just left it on the toilet. I’m 68 and will be 69 this year. I have osteoporosis and this booster seat comes in handy even for me. Glad I bought this for my mom and she got to use it before she died. I’d like to get into a smaller place and hopefully a place that lets me keep my three cats! But if I move, I’ll definitely take the booster seat with me. 👍🏻 Good purchase!
