Fits my 1782 TurboBlend (VM0102) 64oz Container
I got this because mine was rusted and warped. I called Vitamix first to see if they could send me a replacement retainer nut, but they said they didn't have that part and offered me a discount on a new container. I got this instead and I am perfectly happy that I did. Works fine, feels quality, no leaks or issues so far. No need to buy the special tool unless you don't have a screwdriver or something to use as a lever and a guy with some elbow grease to unscrew the nut (counterclockwise) from the base of the container. Fit the container on my 1782 TurboBlend 2 Speed (Model # VM0102) and looks like it would fit my mom's newer 5200 Professional-Grade 64oz container as well. The retainer nut this replaced had the part # ASY172 C, but I would guess that if the nut on your container looks like this one, it probably fits.
