Karman Anti Tippers for S-2512 Series Ergonomic Wheelchair, Black

I didn't order these anti tippers when I ordered the wheelchair, so I used the chair a few days without them. I quickly realized that anti tippers are a MUST for safety.

These are well-designed and fit my Karma Ergo Flight wheelchair, but only after some file work. The entrance (inside diameter) of the wheelchair tube needed to be chamfered/scraped to remove material (paint/powdercoat/burr) before the Tipper could be inserted into the wheelchair tube. I also filed the outside of the Tipper tube leading edge and the backside hole for the spring button (there was a burr there on one Tipper). Once inserted, the Tippers fit really well, tight. If you have any obstruction, it has to be removed before installation.Obviously this is a quality control fail at the factory. Chairs and Tipper should not be shipped until their assembly has been verified. The Tippers should be included and pre-installed with every chair.

Very easy to install. Essentially took seconds. Make sure you are ordering for the right model.

Although it is the correct anti-tipper for the ergo-flight and it is a Karman product, it was a disaster. I was able install one of the tippers. But when I tried to install the other, there was no way to insert the tipper into the wheel chair. So I decided to remove the first one only to discover it had jammed. 15 sweaty, frustrating minutes later I was finally able to remove it with the help of a needle-nose pliers. I've alerted Amazon and obtained a refund and then called Karman Healthcare to alert them about the problem. Perhaps I just received a defective item but my advice is, that if you decide to try them, if they don't slide in easily, return them.

I should correct a review I gave here a few days ago in which I said that Amazon — from whom I bought this product — had provided no manuals or warranty information. That was not correct. They were in an closed pocket on the seat back.I continue to have negative opinions of this chair. It is harder to propel than a regular chair; especially on plush carpets. The Owner’s Manual is worthless. Overall, this chair was designed for the pusher, not the occupant.
