We frequently make a pasta dish that uses anchovies. We had been buying either Crown Prince or Cento anchovies, but lately these products were sub-standard. Many of the Crown Prince cans burst dramatically when opening, and the Centos were mushy and the cans were not well filled. We took a chance on these Sea Castle anchovies and were very glad we did. The cans were well-filled with nice firm filets and they tasted great. Others reported that they were too highly salted, but we did not find this to be the case. If you're on the fence about giving this less-well known product a try, dispel your reservations and order some.

So much better and cheaper than the glass jars at the grocery store. When I don't need a full tin, I store the remaining anchovies in a jar in the fridge and they keep for a long time until I'm ready for more.

This is a new brand and taste for me/us. We eat anchovies about twice a week, either on pizza or blended into a red sauce using canned crushed tomatoes along with fresh tomatoes whenever possible. We have a long history of enjoying various styles of Italian inspired sauces. I would say forty-five to fifty years of experience. This brand stands out as a mild anchovy in flavor and low in salt (to taste) as well. The product has been very consistent in flavor and texture and that is important for cooking. Visually pleasing and not strong in odor as sometime experienced with other brands. Freshness has been one of the noteworthy qualities, so we will stick with this brand (been using this brand for approximately six months now).

Flavor is great, anchovies well packed. Not as convenient as a jar as it is hard to seal back up if you don't eat them all at once.

DO NOT BUY! SUPER SALTY and you can't even rinse them out; they dissolve and shred into pieces (like paste) once you try to rinse with water and taste horrible. I don't know how they got so many good reviews! Tried 2 boxes as test but had to throw away all remaining10 boxes because they make you buy a 12 pack!

Good product, use it for caesar salad dressing and to add to various dips.

I started to cook Italian. And discovered I needed a lot of anchovies for different dishes like pasta puttanesca. These are perfect and there is enough to stock my panty for a few months

Not worth it especially what you pay for such a small amount to get and way too salty but on a good note they were not mushy as some have experienced on here just very small proportion for the price not worth it.
