I was looking for a new set of tongs with solid forged stems rather than all these funky rolled steel things that are weak and flimsy and rust and are hard to clean. I tend to cook big. Pork shoulder, turkeys, brisket, pork belly etc. Rolled steel tongs just don't cut it when dealing with 20 to 30 pound chunks of hot meat.These are pretty darn good and were reasonably priced. I have stuck the tongs up a 25 pound turkey's uh... cavity and lifted it no problem whilst stabilizing it with a fork. That is a pretty good test of the tongs strength. The pictures show the tools sitting in a 17 inch Lodge Cast Iron pan. That pan is about as big as they get from Lodge and it shows the tools are a decent size.Even though I bought these for the tongs, the spatula is rapidly becoming a popular tool in my inventory. I have other even larger spatulas but the shape and solidity of this tool is very good. I cook a lot with cast iron on my outdoor stove with high heat. The curved edges and corners of this tool seem to mesh very well with the radiuses in the cast iron pans. It scrapes the pans well without scarring or digging which is very important for cast iron maintenance.One flaw in these tools that should be fixed in their stamping process is the sharpness of the little flame design in the center of the tools. This was mentioned in a couple reviews I read and it really presents a safety hazard. When you wash these tools you could really jab yourself with those points resulting in a nasty little injury. I took mine and filed them down to a nice softly rounded surface. That took about 15 minutes and is well worth the time.Other than that these seem to be pretty good tools. I wish they had a matching fork with the same sturdiness. That would complete the set.

The tongs we received are off center, meaning when you clamp the tongs together they do not meet in the middle. This makes it difficult to be precise when picking up food off the grill. Besides for that I’d say they’re definitely a good thickness. They’ve got a cool sleek look to them. But it’s unfortunate about the tong alignment.

I ordered this for my dad and he loves it. He grills often, and other tongs usually give out after a couple of months, but this one feels very sturdy. The silicone mat kept our counters clean, and everything was very easy to wash. Would definitely recommend this.

A silicone pad Is excellent spatulas fine the tongs are worthless don’t know how to get in touch with the supplier to get a replacement without sending the whole unit back which is worthless trying

I have only used the tongs so far, they are perfect, good and sturdy for heavy items, they don't bend.

Heavy duty grilling tool that will not bend when turning meats on the grill. Rivet at pivot point worries me but so far so good.
