Q: If you have tried using this with an anker nebula capsule projector: does it work to charge while accessing usb thumb drive files?

I just got this for my Nebula and it works perfectly. I can power the Nebula from a power bank and watch movies saved on a thumb drive all from the Nebula’s single micro USB port.

The power connection goes to the thing you have plugged in and not the tablet or phone.

Q: Does this work with 2nd generation fire sticks with os 5 firmware? it seems to require os 6 or above?

I can't say for sure, but my guess would be, in either model that the wiring/pinout would be the same for each model, so if that is the case, the cord shoud work. I actually found an older one that I bought a few about 10 years ago for a generic Android Tablet and it worked with that as it has the same type of connector, so for the hang of it I tried it on my Firststick 4K Max and the old cable worked just fine.

One of the pair arrived dead; second one works well

Bought this to play mp4 files off USB drives through VLC media player on my Firestick. Cheap quality. Glad the package came with two adapters because the first one was dead and never worked. That was frustrating. Would have returned both items except I needed something like this for an immediate trip and at least one of them worked. Would probably look elsewhere next time I need something like this.
