This collar is LIFE CHANGING!!
Hella long review but walk with me, haha. 🐶 I have hypermobile EDS and my joints ache severely every time after taking my dogs out or for a walk. We have a Border Collie mix and a Husky, they both pull but the Husky pulls to the point where I straight up can’t deal with him on the leash. We tried everything: treats, clickers, shorter leashes, and gentle leaders. The gentle leader worked until the Husky figured out he could just turn around and pull, which made going out a long process full of constant corrections and redirection. My boyfriend had graciously started solely taking them out so I’m not in pain, but I didn’t want to put that all on him or miss out on my babies having fun outside. I figured we had exhausted all options and this was just how life would be with our dogs, but after the Husky slipped out of his gentle leader on Halloween and made a run for it dressed up as a hot dog, I knew I needed to figured something out fast! After hours of searching and comparing, I decided to give this collar a try and when it showed up, my boyfriend thought I bought a torture device and honestly I was a little worried about it too. I took them out just ONE TIME to go potty, and it was MAGICAL!! Our Husky boy STOPPED PULLING!!! Even after getting the collar on him, he didn’t fuss around! The sizing chart and directions are very accurate: we measured his neck at 18” and added 2”. The 20” collar was perfect fit right out of the package, but can be easily adjusted by removing or adding links. The prongs on the links can be a little tricky at first, but get easier with use. As long as you have a little grip strength, it’s not that difficult to pop off/on. Other reviewers said to get the additional quick release thing, which I agree would be better in the long run if you have issues with hand strength, joint pain, or mobility. The chain, rings, and links feel very durable and there is no smell. I like that it’s just metal, so much easier to keep clean! I took them for a walk the next day and he did so good on the leash, no pulling or choking himself and no coughing!! 😭 I felt like it made him more aware of commands, he looked happy and confident for the first time! I was so impressed by this collar’s ability to distribute the pressure of him pulling without harming him that I returned the martingale collar we got for our other dog because she was coughing from pulling on the leash during our walk and buying her this one instead!!

You will wonder why you didn't buy this sooner.
I heard that I should spend a little extra to get this one, the high quality brand. I am glad that I didn't go cheap. It works well and is well made. It fits my little mini Aussipoo. She has the skinniest neck, and I was afraid it would be huge. I took about 3 prongs out, and it is perfect with the adjustment. I should have bought this immediately. It has changed how she walks completely. She did not like it when I first put it on, but after practicing for a few minutes, she is like a new dog. I am not exaggerating! This fixed my dog in minutes. I don't really have to tighten it at all - just a couple times at the very beginning. She got the point and now walks nicely at my side. She is also not afraid of it. When I say "walk," she expects the collar and lets me put it on her quite happily. It is just like a guide to remind her not to pull and walk by my side. This is the best dog training tool I have ever purchased. (American Standard K9 Training on YouTube really helps explain how to use this if you do not know.)

Wish I had got these collars years ago
I was one of those people that thought that prong collars "hurt" the dog and so was very reluctant to try it, even though two of my three dogs are huge pullers. I foolishly had both these dogs in harnesses, thinking that it protected them from doing themselves harm with their pulling. Both dogs are stocky and low to the ground and harnesses just encouraged them to pull even more. It became impossible to walk all three without actually endangering myself with how crazy they pulled and going all directions. I decided to try these prong collars and HOLY SMOKES, not only to the collars not hurt the dogs--they barely even notice them--but the insane pulling stopped immediately! It's kind of crazy. The dogs just can't pull as hard. Period. It's that simple. It is very easy for me to check them with a tiny tug if they do try to pull, but mostly they just check themselves. The collar just tells them with a squeeze when they are pulling too hard or getting too far ahead. My 40 lb puppy tried to jump on someone that she met on the street and made herself yelp because of the pinch this collar gave her, but guess what?? She hasn't done it since. And without it, I would have been yelling "no" just to be ignored by her. My walks with these guys has become so much more enjoyable! And much less embarrassing. I just wish I would have done it sooner. We went for years with our "yank and pull" basset, but she is 80% better with this collar. Just a note, the instructions say you have to take this apart to get it off, but that is nuts, it is way too hard to take apart and put back together. We just flip the collar so the prongs are outside when we take it on and off the dogs, so protect their eyes, and flip it back when it is on the dog.

Meeting my training needs
Awesome collar, great construction. It could be hard tonn be put on but I purchased the clasp. I don’t struggle now with my weak fingers.

It really works.
Works very well to curb impulsive disobedience. Our daily walks are much calmer with the collar. Only down side is that it is difficult to add and remove links to accommodate a growing dog. Part of that may be due to my advanced age and arthritic hands. I would prefer to have one with a clasp as it is scary putting it on over his head. I am afraid of injuring an eye. My 7-mo old pup is super active.

Don’t hurt the dog at all. They just do their job.
These are absolutely amazing. Please invest in the Herm Springer Martin Gale, action prong collar. It’s not very loud when you pull it. If it’s perfectly it’s a very adorable. The color is fine. The cups works fine and it’s just amazing for dog training. It works wonders if you use it right if you don’t know how to use it and you don’t know how to train your dog. Don’t just put it on your dog. Look up a YouTube video. It’s not that hard but if you have a dog and they’re very reactive or they’re just not very well trained, please invest in one of these. They will save you so many migraines.

It’s a game changer, like power steering for your dog!!
It’s a game changer, like power steering for your dog!! We got a German Shepard at 12 weeks, who’s now 6 months old. Up until last week he was completely leash trained, the first week we had him he would lay down sometimes or randomly pull but he stopped that after a week of being with us. We could take him anywhere and he wasn’t reactive to people or other dogs, he just walked and didn’t care, he’d sometimes stop and sniff. If we used a collar he would get wild but with his tactical harness he was extremely obedient on walks. Two weeks ago he hit 6 months(neutered) and he suddenly just got wild on walks even with his harness. He’s 55 pounds and he has a lot of power behind him and he started constantly pulling full force, would no longer heel and would randomly lay down and not get back up. If you stopped to try and make him sit he’d keep pulling. This all started on a trail in the woods. A mile in and he went wild pulling full force. We eventually turned around and he pulled full force the entire trip back to the car he ended up hurting the muscles in my back, shoulder and neck(disabled vet with spinal issues). The next day we took him for another walk around our neighborhood and the same thing happened, pulling full force. Today I tried to walk him in the backyard and it didn’t work, just pulling full force. I’d known about these collars since I was a kid and my parents had used them on our dogs growing up but I thought the collars were cruel and for lazy people lol. I looked online on how to fix this new walking problem we had and people kept recommending these Herm Sprenger prong collars. I was extremely reluctant but decided to watch a bunch of videos and it was amazing how much the dogs would change their walking behavior by simply switching to this collar. I decided to get one, it showed up the same day(today) at 10pm. I removed a few links to make it fit properly and took him for a walk, it was amazing. He had originally been a good walker before getting out of control but with this collar even his old “good walking” wasn’t this good. It’s now like he has power steering and brakes lol. I stop he stops, I walk he walks right next to me. I give a gentle pull and he sits. No random sniffing or momentarily forgetting we’re on a walk. This collar is so simple yet amazing. Now that I know it works I’m waiting for him to grow then I’m getting the larger size in black stainless steel.

Excelent Training Collar for mid sized Dog.
Very effective dog collar trainer. Our Staffordshire Terrier, 3 foot tall, having never walked on a leash, or at least not in the 3 years we rescued it for a yard guarding dog. Picked up the walk along skill in only a quarter mile.

A must have tool if you have a reactive and puller dog
Before I purchased this prong collar I have did tons of research, and everyone all say the Herm Sprenger is the best effective collar. Yes there are several off brand collars out there that maybe cheaper and also may work, but I didn't want to cheap myself or my dog. I heard that the off brand prong collars can be faulty and poorly made and have sharp edges instead of round smooth edges. But we ain't here to talk about those we here to talk about this bad boy. I like to reference Tom Davis and Dog Daddy on youtube. Both of these guys are amazing which shows real dogs with reactive and pulling and aggressive dogs. My dog is a 4 year old German Shepard mix that I got from the shelter. Very friendly, but very reactive to things like cars, people and dogs moving by. His bark definitely gives off that I'm a aggressive dog, but really not. After doing my research from the two Trainers above I purchased the Herm Sprenger prong collar. Note there are mentioned of fakes out there so be sure to check the spelling and prongs edges. So the first day we wanted to see how he do without the prong collar. Which he pulled and was just doing his own thing. My Dog is about around 65 pounds and is pretty strong so I know my wife and 6 year old won't be able to walk him. I had to take out about 4 links off, my dogs neck about 18inches, the collar I got was 22inches, so I got extra link just in case. Mind you that it will take some time getting use to taking the collar on and off as you have to pinch pretty hard to pull off but once you do it a few times you get the hang of it. So I slapped the collar on my dog, and we begin training. The tip is to conduct U-turn correction which means if you see your dog leading ahead of you, you want to immediately U turn and pop the collar as you turning which your dog would immediately turn with you as the collar does a pinch pressure. For a good 10 mins of doing this I saw my dog do way less pulling. The tips I learned is that the dog needs a job to do. The dog wants to be led. If he can not be led he or she will assume command and do what they want. Hence you see some dogs pulling their owners. So it more of the dog taking the owner for a walk rather then the owner taking the dog for a walk. So the goal is to make sure your Dog is paying attention to you and you only. When you cut left your dog should cut left. Now note that timing the correction is key. I recommend you watch the youtube clips on Tom Davis and Dog Daddy. As for the second day of leash training, my dog only needed one correction that was at the very beginning of the walk. I did my U turn , all around in circles and stops and my dog was watching my every move. Not letting the leash extend to far to feel that pressure. My dog slows walk with me and you can see him looking back at me every other second to make sure I'm not trying to make a U turn or move. But definitely improved his walking on leash without pulling. You can see him checking in which is what I want from him. Mind you that during your corrections you may hear your dog yelp that is perfectly fine as that is part of the correction. Like example when your mom tells you don't do something and you do it and she give you a pop in the head. So next time when you in that same situation you think before doing it as you know if you do it youll get pop again. So the Dog have that same sense, they know if they do that wrong thing they will feel that pop. I know some people may think prong collar are inhumane or think that it hurts the dog. But If you properly and fitted correctly the prong collar can be a useful tool to correct misbehavior and communicate with your dog. Dogs don't know English so the collar can be used to help communicate what you trying to command your dog to do. As I mentioned I recommend that you watch youtube videos to see what I'm saying. But overall this product is a must have if you want to teach your dog to walk on the leash and to prevent the reactiveness of your dog.

Coleira excelente
Essa é a melhor coleira do gênero. Não machuca o cachorro, mas deve estar ajustada para que não fique muito justa. Uso apenas para treino e eles adoram!
