Follow installation instructions. We had to redo the passenger side because it had a small gap at front. Once we redid that side and made sure alignment was correct, it worked great. Has been a game changer for my wife who had mobility issues. Tech support was very helpful when I had questions. At this point I highly recommend.

I had the AMP Research 76136-01A installed on a new 2021 Ford Ranger in January 2022. However, there is a problem with the front passenger side step. I believe the problem is a weak or damaged spring in the idler assembly. It hangs down or out and will not fold up all the way on its own. You have to manually push it up.I have been emailing AMP Research customer support on the form on their website since January and have not received a response. I emailed them directly via their customer support email address and no reply. I even filled out a warranty request with all of the information that was requested on their website, but no response. I have called them on two different phones, but they act like they cannot hear me... Buyer Beware should you have a problem with this otherwise fine product.

Plastic motor covers missing.

They get 1 star because amazon doesn't let you give zero stars, 1 star because their manufacturing team did an amazing job, and 1 star because it works well. And im taking 3 stars away because their engineers/designers should be fired. For $1500 I shouldn't get instructions that say "zip tie the controller to the CLOTH battery cover". Or a bracket that can only be installed with a thin wrench turning a 2" long bolt 1/2 of a flat at a time.
