This product hasn't changed in decades. Which is a good thing. No 'new and improved formulas, obnoxious scents, or annoying packaging. Just a fantastic soap in an efficient tub with an opening big enough to get either a scoop or you hand inside and no corners where it can stick and go to waste. It still outperforms any other soap out there. My mom used it to wash her horses and her dogs, my step mom used it to wash quilts, in a pinch I've used it on my hair and more regularly for delicate fabrics like silks. It never irritates either my skin or my dog's (I do use it for its original purpose). It washes out with cold water, no scents, no residue, never bleaches out colors or eats away at materials (while still making whites white). A lablespoon will do what a cup of laundry soap manages. For whatever reason, while it used to be commonly available in feedstores, it became hard to find. I was delighted to see it available through Amazon. Orvus is almost too good for its own success; it goes a long way and it never goes bad. If it sets up hard, just put it somewhere warmish and it will revert back to viscous liquid. A tub like this will last me a couple of years. Considering that and its quality, the price is appropriate.

Love this for washing raw fleeces and hand washing fine wool garments. You get a huge container that will last a very long time. It's gentle but effective & easy to rinse out

I started using this soap to wash my quilts. Now I use it for all my laundry. I don't have to use bleach in my laundry, because this soap seems to whiten and brighten the colors, and yet, doesn't fade them. I like the no scent, so my clothes aren't over powered with perfume like some soaps leave behind. I have the new washing machine which doesn't have the center adjudicator and I just put a tablespoon of the soap right in with the clothes So, it does work with the HE machines. I have used this product for years and will continue to buy this product

I use Orvus for removing black stains from flat grave markers. Those stains are the result of tree sap, algae, mold and dirt, all blending together over years to make a sort of nasty mixture that is tough to remove. The Orvus needs to be diluted as it is thick and "runny". I mix two tablespoons of Orvus per one quart of water to be applied through a spray bottle. Wetting the stone with water to reduce surface tension helps. A good coating of Orvus on the marker and then waiting 15-20 minutes allows the product to set up. The stone will need to be sprayed with water and scrubbed vigorously, but generally only with a nylon brush. Do not use any metal on the stone. It usually involves doing this process twice and then rinsing thoroughly. It is not a biocide and does not kill mold or biological growth like D2 but it does work in removing stains. Still requires a bit of elbow grease.

Fill bucket or tub with water and add orvus. Wash all your riding gear at once and hang dry..

I bought this for cleaning gravestones. One of my hobbies is cleaning gravestones, and this is the stuff for getting any kind of paint off of stones or markers. I'm pretty sure people use it for fabrics. I haven't tried that yet.
