These are wonderful and you can't get a better price anywhere. I will continue to buy these as they make great snacks and are healthy.

I started buying these Beach Cliff bite size herring more than 25 years ago at the old Big Lots stores. They had a better quality product back then with neatly sliced green peppers. I used to pick these up for $.80 cents a tin back then. This latest shipment from Amazon had a large amount of green peppers put into each tin but the peppers are all mashed up, not neatly sliced like they used to be.I have not seen 12 pack cases of this Beach Cliff variety sold on Amazon in ages. I could still buy these at Walmart but the amount of green chilies they would put in each tin was a joke, almost nothing at all. I found a great deal on Amazon so I ordered 5 cases of this fish product.I started eating sardines regularly for health reasons. These are an excellent health food and I never eat more than 3 tins a week of sardines. If you you can find these Beach Cliff varieties on sale at Amazon it would be a good idea to stock up on these healthy nutritious fish snacks. I really prefer the flavor of these bite size herring over the other Beach Cliff 3 sardine to a tin variety.

Tastier than most canned sardines. They taste like fresh fish. (Trust me, most commercial fish have been sitting around for a while before they come to market. Anyone who has caught and cooked their own fish knows this.) The bones are so tiny that you may not even notice them. They are not packed as tightly as sardines, so you may not get quite as much protein, but good nevertheless.

As a child, the idea of eating sardines was absolutely repugnant to me. It's only been in the last 25 or 30 years that I started to eat these Beach Cliff Wild Caught Fish Steaks in Soybean Oil. If you research it, you'll find that these cold water sardines are exceptionally good for you, in addition to tasting good and being reasonably priced. I try to eat a can of these at least once a week for lunch. Give 'em a try, what do you have to lose? (Beside a few pounds!)

On the prowl, without moving, for affordable sardines, but also tasty, I encountered this Beach Cliff Fish. In the past I been reluctant to buy fish in a tin, mostly due to my life long preference for sardines, just could not imagine fish replacing them. Reviews were all for it, which I suppose there are those that will choose fish, Herring coming to mind, but these were not said fish, so for slightly more money than sardines, I took the plunge.Agreeable but not quite as sardines. Easy to eat, probably as healthy, and over saltine crackers with a touch of mayonnaise made for a nice snack. Should add the tin can was packed with fish, plenty of value to be had. 3.9 Stars.

I adore these. Unlike herring filets, which come from much larger herrings, these are cross cut sections from small herrings, which have not been smoked or deboned. I actually like the small crunchy spines. The bite size pc are awesome and flavorful and the hot sauce is mild. A great source of omega 3s and low carb too.Now some negatives...At the time of my first two orders the single can price was better than buying a dozen, go figure. I notice that that has changed and as I write this buying a dozen only costs $.00.4 more per pound. In the future I will order by the dozen which hopefully will be in a sealed box with the correct content. My 1st order of singles maxed out at 10 cans, I could not add any more single cans than this to my cart. When my order arrived 5 of the 10 cans were not herring in Louisiana hot sauce but were sardines in tomato sauce. Food items are not returnable. Amazon resolved the issue and credited me for half the order and I got to keep the sardines, this took slightly less than 40 minutes on the phone, for a mistake totalling just a little over $5.00, yikes. My order that arrived today only contained one can of sardines in tomatoes sauce, so perhaps things are getting better?

As of JULY 2025, the current batch has rotten fish.I have been eating various varieties of the Beach Cliff fish steaks and sardines for at least 5 years as part of my healthy protein intake and have generally been happy with them.With that in mind, when I saw a pretty good price on these during Prime Day, I decided to stock up. However, the fish in the cans I received this time were rotten, spoiled and obviously unsafe for consumption.Amazon customer service was courteous and helpful with resolving the issue so I suspect the problem lies with Beach Cliff.

I like the little kick the chilies give these fish steaks.
