Its perfect for starting chicks in a brooder. I use a large cardboard box with hardware cloth taped to the sides so we can watch 'em and be entertained. Its half the price of big box store kits and works perfectly to start out for a few weeks. Nothing works perfect for new chicks since they will hop all over everything you put in there. Pop on it too. Once they get big enough you'll want to come up with something they can't scratch food out of and nipple waters. These are small so they don't take up much floor space in the brooder box. I can't see why anyone would have any negatives unless they just have never had chicks before and expect perfection for the few bucks it costs. If your new, this is all you need. All products have been working out great for our chicks. Great for young ones. Ours are now 8 weeks old. Will buy larger feeder and water container in about a month from now and save these for when we have little ones again.

Although they are cheap plastic, and arent meant for long term, abuse.. They served there purpose well for 6 weeks.. We still use the lamp, feeders were a little flimsy and can be difficult to refill or clean and put back together.. But you get what you pay for.. i now have a chick set up..

This package worked out well for me and I think it's worth the money

Kit works good for the beginner poultry keeper. Hatched a handful of quail and the kit has everything you need. Not high quality but enough to suffice til you build up.

I'm way behind on reviews, sorry. This kit is great if you are in a real pinch. The only thing I ended up using was the water and and drop light only for a short time. The drop light in my opinion was way too hot and a fire hazzard; I still used it but changed out the bulb. The feeders were useless and the tall one kept getting chicks stuck in it. Again, if you are in a pinch the it's manageable.

We are newcomers to raising chickens, so when we got our chicks a few days ago we received our kit the same day. We are very happy with the product and our chicks are too!

This arrived on time and in great condition. I would recommend to the vendor to add a thermometer to the kit as temperature control is important in the brooder. But it all assembled easily and quickly. It does a great job keeping a warm environment for the chicks.
