Writing this review after years of buying it and it still works great. Great quality item. A bit pricy but worth it.

If you're looking for a good and safe SSD enclosure, this one is definitely worth considering. It offers excellent build quality and reliable performance, making it a solid choice for protecting your SSD.

Package came intact with a seal on the box. Very well designed and full metal body construction. Thermal pads provided inside the case. Comes with high data transfer USB C/ A cables. A edge protector 'rubber case' for the CASE provided and an R-Clip to attach the unit to your laptop bag (perhaps). Accessing inside the case is also made easy with a pin push to open type arrangement. The propriety screw provided was not well designed. When the SSD biscuit is inserted inside and the screw tightened, the case would not close. After investigation found that the screw head was unnecessarily big causing the problem...Had to find another screw and jerry rig the connection to make it work!!! ***Update: All is good with the screw the ssd biscuit sits in the screw notch provided (see attached pics). After 2 hrs of continuous gaming and 200 GB's of data transfer the SSD temps were below the 45 Deg C mark which is really good. I got a healthy data transfer rate of 550 GBps on my WD 1TB SSD which is sufficient for gaming. Verdict : A bit expensive for what you are getting here. Only would recommend if you are a Tech enthusiast, own Asus products or simply like all things RGB....

I was looking for an SSD and getting an enclosure along with an nvme drive made the most sense. The speeds are comparable to Samsung/Sandisk SSD’s and you’ll even save some money using multiple drives with this enclosure. It’s very easy to swap drives and the build quality is pretty good as well. The aura lighting is a bonus.

Solid product, worked like a charm for me. Cloned my 250 gb sdd to a 1 tb verbatim SSD and booted up my higher capacity laptop without issue. Didn't heat up much either during the procedure which is good. People should know however that this case has issues with the crucial p5 sdd, so if u have one of those don't buy this. I'll keep my 250 GB western digital safe somewhere as backup and purchase another SSD to use with this enclosure for regular file transfer. Happy customer here 🙂

U got better deal

This enclosure supports NVME PCIE4 (version 4). Most others could not load the PCIE4 Firecuda that I had bought but this one can. The quality is mind-blowing for an enclosure. It is also overpriced for sure but then, this is the only one I could find that had the v4 support. The USB connector will limit the speeds (about about 900 MegaBYTES to 1 GigaBYTES per second) though. If you can shell out the money, I would say buy it (it hurts to remember the amount I paid guys; it just hurts).

Fantastic product. i tried one of those cheaper products..but you get what you pay for... this run cooler, faster and connects to your computer easier. You also dont run into any weird issues or hassles.. it just works. worth every penny.... plus it looks awesome, feels rock solid, strap holder mades it super portable and the bumper bar around the edges help with falls(dont know why itd be falling?)... dont shop around and just get this.

Como cualquier otro case/adaptador, cumple con su función principal de forma eficiente, logrando obtener un aproximado a las velocidades indicadas por el fabricante y con la facilidad de instalación que se presume, algo que lo diferencia bastante son los materiales que lo consolidan, me agrada mucho que este hecho de aluminio, eso le ayuda a disipar el calor que generan los SSD y gracias a los ‘thermal pads’ de su interior esto es mas eficiente. Las luces ya son algo estético que luce bien cuando se conecta y te puede servir como aviso de que sigue conectado. Algo que si veo un poco innecesario es el gancho, hay que ser bastante confiado e ingenuo para colgarlo fuera de una mochila, por dos razones, la primera es que el gancho ‘R’ este hecho de plástico que se ve y se siente bastante frágil un jalón podría fácilmente romperlo, y la segunda es que se sujeta por un velcro el cual es igual de fácil de abrir o quitar.

I picked up the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion to give new life to an old NVMe drive, and it’s been fantastic. Installation was super easy, no fiddling with screws, just pop it in with the included ROG key and you’re set. The build feels solid in hand, and the RGB lighting gives it that signature ROG flair without being too flashy. Performance has been rock‑steady. I’ve transferred big files and even used it like a portable game library, and speeds stay fast with no hiccups. I also love that it works across all my devices such as Windows laptop, Mac, and even my phone with USB‑C. It’s basically become my “thumb drive on steroids.” If you want something that’s both stylish and reliable, this enclosure is worth it. I’m glad I spent a bit more for the quality, it feels like a long‑term investment rather than a cheap gadget.

This case is a two minute tool free/screw-less install to put the drive in, after that the enclosure snaps together with a mechanism that makes it incredibly secure. The read and write speeds are by far the best of any enclosure I've used and it makes great use of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 capabilities. With previous enclosures I've tried, I found that some of the cheaper M.2 drives would create so much heat that the enclosure itself was too hot to even touch. The included thermal pads with the Asus have had no such problem for any of my drives, and at worst the case can feel 'warm'. I tend to throw my drives into bags, suitcases, field toolkits and into various locations of workshops or desks, and they detect first team each time and have never shown a single scratch, bend, warp or fault, despite the rough treatment. The included harness for the drive is perfect for latching inside toolbags also, no more digging through kit to find it at the bottom. While I'm not a big fan of the RGB that the drive has, especially as it's a power-on/always-on inclusion, it does work well and would tick the box for people who like their tech to gradually colourshift through the colours. Besides the RGB, the only other questionable points of the drive is build quality of the harness and the placement of the USB-C port on the enclosure. Having the port it at the bottom of the drive like that can make the port feel 'exposed'. There's no significant recessed port surrounds on the enclosure, so any force on that cable would go directly into the internal component. This also adds a risk because there's no rubber grip pads or feet like a standard 2.5" external drive would use, so a accidental swipe of the hand and the drive can easily skid off the working surface and yank or be left hanging directly by that hardware. There also could have been a easy win here by including a sliding dust protector for when no cable is plugged in. The harness included with the drive is unfortunately velcro latched, so with a bit of force it or with enough time, the velcro would eventually fail and come apart. The 'R' shaped carabiner clasp is probably the worst part of this drive all together however, it's a very flimsy plastic feel with a horribly weak latch. It only takes a slight push of the thumb you can feel it flexing badly, to the point where I'm shocked I've not broken one yet. Easy solution to pick up a simple paracord style loop with a small aluminum carabiner and fit it on there yourself. Even with those few quality misses though, I'll happily continue getting these enclosures until someone manages to build one that can outperform them, as they're still the best value for money around.
