Had a problem a couple of seasons ago with a ricochet off a flat piece of AR5OO that I had propped up on a homemade stand. Then I bought one of these reduced silhouettes with an accompanying stand that angles the steel and deflects rounds downward. Very safe. I have shot everything at this target including AP ammo in 5.56 and 7.62 without a problem. I expect it to last for years to come. The only thing that I have to replace routinely is the 2x4 post the target is mounted on. If you train, I cannot recommend this enough.

This target is the best thing since sliced bread! I would recommend it to anyone. They’re not cheap, but they are extremely durable. It also makes a very loud and satisfying ringing noise when hit. I shoot it mostly with a 556 and you can still hear the ringing noise over the 556. The size I got is 30lbs, so the impact doesn’t move it around or fall over like smaller targets when you lean them against a rock or something. (MRE joke) Buy it! You won’t be disappointed.

I picked up these steel targets for target practice, and overall I’m really impressed with the quality. The steel feels solid and durable it holds up well after multiple shooting sessions without any noticeable damage beyond normal surface marks. I’ve used it with different calibers (within the recommended range), and it gives a satisfying “ping” when hit, which makes shooting a lot more fun and helps with feedback. One thing to keep in mind is making sure you’re using it at the proper distance and with the right ammo for safety, since that really matters with steel targets. I bought these targets for our shooting trips in the desert. We set them up about 150-175 yards away on a rocky hillside and the targets performed perfectly. They are a very bright neon yellowish green, so you can still see them when they are a ways out. The steel itself is very thick. Thick enough to take a ton of .308 shots and not even come close to denting. The paint, of course gets shot off but a new can of bright spray paint will fix that the next time we go shooting. The targets definitely have some weight to them so just be prepared to be out of breath if you are carrying them far out and up a steep hill! You definitely will get your cardio workout putting them up and retrieving them after you are done shooting. Pricewise, these were the best that I could find for this thickness of steel. We would definitely buy these again but probably won't need to, since they look to last for decades if kept out of the elements when storing.
