Something different
I liked the concept, but some of the stories changed narratives with no connection to the first part of the tale. Very confusing to follow in places. But still a good read. I particularly liked some of the 'kick starter' contributor names. Some were hilarious.

Once again I loved this
I must congratulate Belanger Books because they have managed, in these two anthologies, to find writers who are almost pitch-perfect in tone for both Holmes and Watson and the occult detection genres. (This is much more difficult than you would expect as I have just reviewed very critically another mystery novel set in the late 19th century, which mingled occult aspects, but the author of which could not prevent their protagonist and on-the-right-side characters from having impeccably 21st century attitudes). From the serious to the comic (there is one story here involving a character who reminds me very much of Professor Elemental, exponent of chap hop), from the "rational explanation after all - or is it?" to the overtly supernatural, from pre- to post-retirement, the selection of stories is excellent.A definite recommendation for fans of ACD's work, Carnacki, and good pastiches!

A Good Read
The variety and breadth of the stories in this series gave me hours of enjoyment. Uncharacteristically for a follow-up, the second volume is just as engaging as the first. It's exciting to sample so many good writers.

A superb collection
This anthology is an excellent set of tales where Holmes joins forces with the great occult detectives, both the classic protagonists of the genre and more contemporary creations, to battle supernatural threats. Definitely recommended for fans of the genre and of Holmes.
