Perfect camping and hiking pants
The quality is very good being made by Columbia, I expected that. The fit was perfect and just the right weight for camping in the summer. All the pockets were very well placed and the fact you could convert them into shorts was a big plus.

Great pants
First, many thanks to the reviewer who suggested buying these a size up if you'll be wearing these for active pursuits. I did just that and the extra roominess was exactly perfect for hiking a portion of the AT.These pants are very light, and as such very comfortable. I didn't have any issues with durability, although I will say the belt that comes with the pants is rubbish. Do yourself a favor and replace the belt with the 5.11 TDU 1.5-Inch Belt. The combination is superb. My only real nit with these pants is the zipper design, on both the pant legs and the fly. They are fine-toothed zippers, meaning they will likely not hold up under serious outdoor activity. So if you're looking to wear these on anything but casual hikes (even intermediate I'd be careful), know that the zippers may cause you trouble down the line.I will say that I had to go across a stream and took a wrong step which resulted in a very wet leg. Within 30 minutes the pant leg was quite dry. So when people are saying these are fast-drying pants, they are not exaggerating.Quick note - I ordered the gravel color. The color is hard to make out on the photo. It's not as olive drab as it looks, but rather olive with a healthy amount of gray cast to it. Think very dark olive khaki, darker than, say, Boy Scout uniform pants. It is a very outdoorsy color.I'm very happy with these pants. They are versatile and work well!

excellent pant
I'm a long distance thru- hiker. My weight fluctuates as I lose 20 pounds during the months on the trail and slowly gain it back before starting in these pants again. Sewn on buttons did not cut it for me. Even though mine pop when I gain weight during my off months, I prefer knowing that I have a waist button that is reliable. These deliver. Overall these pants are better constructed than the others that I have tried, and they are equally light.. Another key feature is that there is a zippered pocket on the left leg. I need to know that there is one zippered pocket. If you have extremely muscled thighs, these could be tight, but for me they work and I have average to big thighs- 5'10' 200lb as I set out. I. order the 34 waist The belt is cheap but it is fine for me and light weight. But the waist does seem to have a little give of it's own but not much. What tends to happen for me is that they are on tight side at the waist and even the thighs starting out, but after a few weeks on the trail the fit is perfect and by the second or third month, the belt is actually being used as an aide to keep them tight Bottom line they are true to size in my case..The possible drawback in construction for some, may be that there is no velcro around the ankle. In other words, you will need to take off your hiking boots while converting them into shorts or vice-versa. This is minor for me. Breaks are usually welcomed. I also like to wear them a lot when I'm not hiking. These pants are good for everyday use as well. They look good too esp. the dark colors. Highly recommended.

Watch Your Pockets!
These really are great pants. They're comfortable, fit well, and they unzip to become shorts. They also dry very quickly. I used them for my African safari, and they were perfect. That said, beware the pockets. After only about 2 months of wearing them (in rotation with other pants), the back pocket has already torn. The stitching came undone. I noticed after putting my wallet in my back pocket and feeling it fall down my pant leg. Because of how light they are, the stitching and pocket material tears very easily.

Great cool hiking pants
Get them with 1 size larger waist, they don't stretch, length is ok. Lightweight but durable, dries quickly, plastic belt is great for plane travel, packs in a small space. Wash in cool water, air dries overnight. I have 8 pair now and wear 8 months in Dallas warm weather. Only problem, prior pair had zipper on pocket fail and come apart after 1 year. Prior pants version also has net style front pockets and no problems, new pants version netting has slightly bigger holes so we'll see how durable it is. Very nice in hot, warm or cool weather, breathes easily. Not sure about cold weather.

Versatile Hiking Pants That Do It All
Versatile Hiking Pants That Do It AllThese Columbia Silver Ridge Convertible Pants have become my go-to for hiking and travel because of how practical they are. The lightweight fabric feels breathable, dries quickly, and the UPF 50 sun protection is a real plus when I’m outdoors for hours. I appreciate that they don’t feel heavy or restrictive, even when the weather heats up.The zip-off design is clever—being able to switch from full pants to shorts without carrying an extra pair saves space and weight. The zippers are smooth and placed just right, so they don’t rub uncomfortably. The fit is true to size, and I like that the waistband has some flexibility, which helps when I’m moving around or layering underneath. The multiple pockets are deep enough for essentials, and the security pocket is handy for small valuables. One thing to keep in mind: the fabric is thin, which is great for breathability, but if you’re doing rugged bushwhacking you may want something a bit more abrasion-resistant. Also, the lighter colors can show dirt quickly, though they wash up easily.Bottom line: These pants strike an excellent balance of comfort, versatility, and function. If you spend time outdoors hiking, camping, or traveling light, they’re a smart addition to your gear.

Recomendable este pantalon
I bought these Columbia pants in size 36x32 and they fit perfectly. For reference, I’m 5’11” (180 cm) and weigh 200 lbs — the fit was just right, not too tight and not too loose. The material feels high-quality, lightweight, and very comfortable, great for everyday wear or outdoor activities. Very happy with this purchase, definitely recommend.
