they do what they are supposed to - Functional. The size at the top of the taper part is just barely big enough to fit a 7/16 grommet. These do not have the fill lines molded into the part. The quality is there. Edit - I have since bought two more orders from same vendor and these have fill lines.

I used these airlocks along with plastic lids to ferment various foods in mason jars. These work quite well and I also love that they can be taken apart in order to properly clean them. Sometimes I have to add additional water to these airlocks, especially for those ferments that take several weeks. Purchasing these along with grommets and plastic lids gave me a much cheaper airlock system than buying the lids premade. If you have mason jars and would like to start fermenting, these items work together to be the perfect solution.

A set of six for the guy who has misplaced four other (brand new!) airlocks... Hopefully I'll be able to keep track of a couple of these in the coming months. As others have stated, pretty good price and free shipping go a long way towards a good review. Plus, these are easy to clean, seem to be of decent quality, and you get a half dozen so you can have multiple fermentations going on at the same time! Guess it's time to give homemade kimchi a shot!

I have just ordered more of these 3 Piece Plastic Airlock (Sold in sets of 6) . I am very happy with the quality and price. They are very simple, easy to clean and work well. I use these with rubber grommets on Ball Reusable plastic canning covers, for lacto-fermentation. It's all good.

Love the mechanism of how they work, although the plastic is very thin and could easily be broken. I had one crack at the base when pushed into the grommet hole. Get plenty as they will need replacing from time to time, but the price is good.

These are easy to use! First I drilled a hole in a metal mason jar lid. (you could use plastic lids too but the seal won't be a tight.) Please be careful to use a clamp as I ended up cutting my finger when the metal lid moved on me when drilling a hole. I think I ended up using a 3/8 in drill bit...Or one size bigger. I can't recall anymore. I also purchased the "masontop true fit silicone grommets" and those worked great for these airlocks. You just fill the water up to the fill line on the airlock, put the top cover on, fit in the grommet in the mason lid hole and stick in the airlock and you are ready for fermenting!

It was music to my ears to hear those bubbles. It was easy to clean, and, trust me, if you're making wine or any kind of fermentation, you get gnats in your house, but, this, surely did keep them at bay. I'm pleased as punch to say my wine turned out perfectly, three times! Paint me, one Happy Woman

Buena calidad para el precio, hay que tener en cuenta que son muy fragiles y cualquier fuerza los puede romper, ya he roto dos porque los incruste en el corcho, tengo unos que compre hace 3 años que siguen buenos pero estos se rompieron dos por aplicarles un poco de fuerza, deben de tenerlos con cuidado, digo por el precio es entendible asi que consideren que son desechables despues de algunos usos
