Eagle Creek Doubleback 22 Inch Carry-On Luggage

This bag is AWESOME. It is durable, comfortable, and practical. It is very lightweight, can be a backpack but also has wheels, and is carry on size. I brought this on a 3 week trip to Asia and was able to fit everything in it. I pushed this bag to the limit and didn't have any issues - I stretched the zippers, dragged it through rough streets, etc. and it held up through everything. Absolutely worth every penny! (I considered several other bags but ultimately purchased this one due to the size and weight; my fully packed bag only weighed 23 pounds!)

I love this bag! I am taking it to Europe in a few weeks and it is going to work perfectly. It is lightweight and very durable. The detachable backpack is the perfect size.

Nice bag, well constructed. didn't quite fit my needs, but that's my problem

I bought this for a multi-city international trip. The light weight and built in backpack appealed to me. However, I was soon to be disappointed. Within minutes of being at the airport a crucial pin fell out of the telescoping handle and rendered it useless until I rigged it with a rubber band and a Bobby pin. This would become my new normal throughout my two week trip. Not the worst, but also not the most convenient. The single telescoping handle would also prove to be a disappointment throughout the trip, the bag would get all squirrely and tip over on the flattest of terrain. The attached backpack was appealing due to its lightness and compact size. Turns out the shape of the bag lends itself to a really annoying zipper layout that doesn’t allow you to quickly or easily open or close the bag. Not the worst but could be better, especially for $320. Overall, I do not recommend this particular model of this bag. Multi-directional wheels would help, I’m aure this company offers other bags with this option. As for this model, I don’t recommend it. Good quality bag, can pack a decent amount but overall wasn’t a breeze to travel with. I am retiring the bag due to the faulty telescoping handle issue and the lack of ease of use of the backpack.

Eagle Creek just knows how to get it right. Excellent quality and function. They cost a bit more but they are totally worth it

After checking this out in a luggage store I found a good deal here and decided to give it a try. I am very happy with the results and would recommend this highly. As a flyer, I've used it on both quick stateside trips as well as longer travel abroad and it served me well for both. The small backpack is a perfect daypack for city use -- not sure it would be big enough for what you'd need on a dayhike. The only gripe I have is the single bar for the handle on the roller bag -- it's not very sturdy and I think two bars would have been better.
