The Spice Way Szechuan Peppercorns - (4 oz) premium sichuan pepper, dried Chinese style peppercorn.

Its hard to find these peppercorns in regular grocery stores and my local Asian store only has giant bags. Thys is the perfect size for home use. I add them to my hotpot broth, marinated egg liquid and homemade chili oil. Great flavor, nice and numbing.

Wow, that's all I can say. Just wow. I've never had Szechuan peppercorns before and boy, have I missed out. These sneaky little peppercorns are not only filled with flavor but also have a neat little surprise.I toasted them first and was struck by the fact that the fragrance was very unexpected. A wonderful fruity, floral fragrance filled the air. After grinding them in my morter I tasted a tiny bit unsure of just how hot they might be. Hmm, they didn't seem hot at all and didn't taste like any peppercorn I'd ever tasted. Then, a few moments later my tongue began to tingle and get a little numb, but not from heat. I don't even know how to describe it. You just have to experience it. I only used a tablespoon in the recipe that called for 1/3 cup but I wished I'd used more it was that good. I will order a bigger bag next time. I love Spice Way. Always fresh, always prompt, always delicious.

It's not overpowering. It's so unique and delicious.

We use pepper corns a lot in our stir fry, but I tell you, I have NEVER opened a bag or bottle of them and been blown back by how Peppery they smelled, before even crushing them. Note: do not use the same amount of them as you do your usual ones or you mouth will be tingling for a while after eating, trust me on this. Seriously don't do it.

Intense flavor it is a necessary ingredient for certain Chinese dishes or even common tea. As been used for centuries as a medicine in China

Perfect appearance, aroma, potency, flavor. Give them a good toast in the pan to really open up the flavors

Unless you will be using these often I would say this is a lifetime supply of Szechuan Peppercorns.

Happy with these peppercorns. I purchased them for a sticky pork belly dish that turned out really well. Looking forward to getting to use them in other dishes.
