Dragon Ball Z - Season 6 (Cell Games Saga)

Goku Is A Good Father
I've always wondered what DragonBall Saga is ranked the best, highest rated? I don't get full-credible answers, but from a lot of those sources I'll see the Cell Saga as the top saga. This Saga, has flaws storyline, I feel like the Saiyan, Namek, Frieza, and even Majin Buu Saga, had a storyline that flowed more evenly than the Androids/Cell Saga storyline. A lot of us think the storyline in DragonBall flows better than the D.B.Z. storyline, and a lot of us feel like the storyline in Dragon Ball Super, isn't as well written, thinking a lot of Super is based off of what fans want.Over the years, I have seen lots of questions as to what would happen, if there were certain other outcomes even simple different outcomes in the D.B.Z. storyline? We think of them from an in-universe perspective, and a lot of those outcomes would mean the end altogether. Realistically, even if there were different outcomes from the main storyline, we can bet Toriyama would still write the story with a resolved ending and where the characters still figured out a way to defeat the villain and make it to the next level. It realistically comes down to storyline, and for awhile Toriyama had plans of ending the series even after the Frieza and Cell Saga, but because of the fans he continued the story. A story that lives on.With the story really coming from writing let's think for a minute. For example, Launch a main character in DragonBall is not in the manga in DragonBall Z, only has small scenes in the anime, because Toriyama had forgotten about her. Animal people that were very common in DragonBall, aren't so common in D.B.Z. I read in some interview I hadn't seen in awhile, that Toriyama thinks he forgot to include them, as he was working on the after effects of Dr. Slump when he started with DragonBall. We notice flaws in the Androids/Cell Arc, including mentioning Dr. Gero when he wasn't a known character during the Red Ribbon Army Saga, most likely just an added character to continue the plot. Also, I heard that Toriyama brought out Cell because his former editor didn't care for Androids 19 and 20, and then Android 17 and 18. If his former editor hadn't made those comments, we could have seen a storyline without Cell. I also am pretty sure that Toriyama originally intended the Cell Saga to be Goku's last saga and have Gohan continue as the main character, but he changed it around. While watching this Season, I thought to myself that I bet Toriyama hadn't thought of two of the main characters we get to know in the next Saga, Goten and Videl while writing the Cell Games Saga. If he had, he possibly would have included Goten in the Future Trunks Saga, or at least hint that Chichi was pregnant. If he had thought of Videl, he probably would have at least mentioned her somehow, or given her a cameo. I've wondered what if Gohan could have met Videl when he was younger, like during the Cell Games Saga where she came to recognize him by? Cell's fight was broadcast on T.V. and Hercule was able to convince people it was tricks, though the fights between the Saiyans were also broadcast on T.V., and people seemed to forget that fight or recognize Earth's special forces.Enough about writing, even though I'm putting that into perspective as a lot of us might barely think of it this way. If you're like me and have watched D.B.Z. for years, you still love D.B.Z. even when you can point out the flaws. A main reason we love D.B.Z. is because of Goku. While we can also debate whether Goku is a good or bad father, I feel like he showed himself as a good father during this Saga, and about as good as a father gets. Goku having nice hangouts with his son Gohan before the Cell Games, and being encouraging, helping Gohan believe he could beat Cell. This makes him seem so nice!!The Cell fight is also awesome. This D.B.Z. action draws you into it, even if you know what happens? The climax to the fight, feels like one of the most exciting things you'll ever see on T.V. I can assure you, you'll love these episodes if you like D.B.Z. I also want to say, that you might not care for most of the episodes in Disc 1, where it isn't those actions episodes we know D.B.Z. from. But, it is nice to see how carefree Goku can be at other times. He is truly a one of a kind hero.

Digital
I really like having it digital because it’s easier and more convenient. But the biggest downfall is you cannot change the audio to the US broadcast version of the music in the background so it plays the Japanese music in the background but the English dub is great.

DBZ Season 6 Review
I have to say that the fight between Gohan and Cell rocked big time! It was more intense and dramatic than the entire fight with Frieza which had about 30 episodes of fighting and the Gohan vs Cell fight only had 11 episodes. It was like you were right there at the Cell Games. You would feel what the characters were feeling. One difference between this battle and the other ones with involving Freiza and Majin Buu, this battle isn't an epic battle but one thing is has is the ability the convey emotion and feelings which the viewer will feel.I also found out that Cell has appeared in less episodes (while alive) than Frieza and the many forms of Majin Buu.Frieza: 58 episodes (Seasons 2,3 & 4 plus TV Special 'Bardock The Father Of Goku)Majin Buu,Super Buu & Kid Buu: 55 episodes (Seasons 8 & 9)Cell: 52 episodes (Seasons 5 & 6)Of course Cell is over 100 times more powerful than Frieza and not yet quite as powerful than Majin Buu.I don't know the real reason for having Goku on the front cover but if I had to choose it would be SS2 Gohan because he was the one who defeated Cell. Even though Goku did save the planet from the self destructing Cell.Have you noticed that Goku and Vegeta (the only 2 pure blooded Saiyans alive) have died only twice throughout the entire series and they have died about 5 seasons apart and Goku is usually dead for a long period of time and Vegeta is dead for a short period of time.Vegeta changes alot during the fight. He says sorry to Gohan for being useless on the battle field and when Cell kills Trunks he goes into a moment of reflection and then flies into a rage and attacks Cell head on.I love the battle between the Z fighters and the Cell Juniors. It was an all out war! I liked it when Gohan hunted down the seven Cell Juniors and picked them off one by one.I like the 10 filler episodes before the fight and it is good to see an old enemy like General Tao come back. I love the end of the fight where Cell & Gohan use their powers to form a big Kamehameha ball and the Z fighters still help even if their efforts are for nothing. They still try anyway. Goku giving some helpful encouragement and advice still added the suspense it needed. This is truly a great work of art!
