Surprisingly Good Movie
I followed this true crime case. Meredith Baxter is not a favorite actress of mine, but I give her credit in portraying a narcissistic bully who, contrary to her constant portrayal as the victim, deliberately took the lives of the two people in her life that she could not control. Betty Brodrick is nothing more than a cold blooded killer who, to this day, continues to serve her sentence without any degree of regret or remorse. She has been denied parole each time, the last being in 2017.This is a two part disc, the first part leading up to the trials and the second, the trials itself. When you sneak into a house in the middle of the night with a gun in your hand, your intent is not to kill yourself, your intent is to kill the occupants of the house. A narcissist thinks too highly of themselves to commit suicide. This film examines the events leading up to the tragic end and its tradgic aftermath. Meredith Baxter was nominated for her role and she did a good job, as did the other cast members. The living victims of this tragedy are the four children who, to this day, struggle emotionally, while their Mother remains alive and well behind bars, believing that she is the true victim of her circumstances and believing that she did nothing wrong.

Betty
I watched this when it came out on tv years back and was just amazed by the actions on both Betty and her husband's part. It is no surprise it ended the way it did, based on his behavior during the later years of the marriage. I am actually shocked she did not do something much sooner--well done by Meredith to portray Betty.....

What a great movie. True Story Based, awesome movie.
I'm such a fan of true story movies. And of the Lifetime movie network. This was such a sensational movie, although it is very long ( A two part movie ), it is definitely worth the time to watch it.This story is based on a true story, and let me tell you Meredith Baxter played such a great role in this movie. She showed what a truly great actress she is. She plays a wife who after supporting her husband through his schooling and a long marriage, then when she gets divorced she goes absolutely psychotic and homicidal. She can't stand the fact that her ex-husband has moved on and is happy. Although she finds a new relationship of her own, she can't stand the fact that he moves on. She absolutely tortures him and his new wife, I don't want to say to much so as to ruin the whole movie for anybody that reads this. But I will say you won't be disappointed in this movie. I think it does a great job at showing how mental illness affects people. And not just the person struggling with the illness but everyone that is involved in their life as well. I truly believe this is one of the best movies I have ever seen

Brilliant depiction in a two-movie bonanza! Love it!!!
True crime at its best. Well done. Also shows the sadness of a narcissist who thought (and still thinks) she had the right to slaughter two people in cold blood because she couldn’t deal with rejection. The two movies A Woman Scorned and Her Final Fury shows perfectly the bizarre unspooling of a rich society wife whose entire identity hinged on her husband, which is a sad state for anyone to be in much less a psycho like Betty. The cast is perfection, esp Meredith Baxter Birney who plays Betty as an extremely damaged and vindictive person who was willing to destroy lives, including her own, to get her way. Highly recommend and a cautionary tale for anyone thinking that murder is justified just because you can’t cope with rejection.

A Woman Scorned, Betty Brodrick story
I saw this movie on tv, was telling my Mom about it then I found it on Amazon. It is a story of how a woman can be verbally abusive to her husband and then keep doing things to him and not get help for herself that she really needs. She really needed to seek professional help after the divorce to get her life in order so she can be out in the world alone again, but she didnt, she kept trying to make his life miserable when he remarried. She was such a mess and instead of getting help she made the whole family suffer for it. She verbally abused her ex husband and then she talked bad about him to the kids, telling them that his second wife was a whore and child herself. She used her daughters key to get into the house when the kids were with her in the middle of the night and went and shot them both, but then kept telling all the lawyers that she was the victim. It is a really good story and Marideth Baxter did a very good job. The Book is amazing also, has lots more information in it.

Works on R2 players
Rather uselessly, Amazon lumps together reviews of different products and frequently carries erroneous information. So this is just a note that may be helpful to someone. The Questar DVD of 'A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story' is listed as playable on Region 1 (American) players only. This is not true. The disc has no regional coding and can be played in any DVD player.
