How many packets are in this unit? it says "1.0 unit", but also "12 sink packets + 2-4in stoppers, white, 2 pack".

Since this was a while back and based on what I remember, the unit is one package which consists of the 12 packs and the sink stoppers. The packs are small one-use packs so you would get 12 uses in each unit you order. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Does it take the stink out of running clothes and sports bras ?

Not sure about running clothes. We had toured a goat farm and our clothes were pretty stinky after that experience. These packets worked well for that.

Is it a no rinse detergent?

I rinsed the small items, I washed, since it was a sudsy detergent. I washed just a handful of undies in the sink, while traveling. Rinsed & It worked like a charm.

How long do you need to soak your clothes for?

I would base that on your perceived level of dirtiness or stains. Probably 5 minutes minimum up to 15 minutes should be good. Pretreat stains or soak a bit longer. Because there isn't constant agitation like from a washing machine, I usually soak about 15 minutes on average.
