There have been many books written about Steve McQueen and since I've been a fan starting in the early 1970s, I can state that I've read pretty much all of them, despite the various levels of quality and accuracy. Many of them were penned by Marshall Terrill who is the author of several of the best of them.Well, he has quite simply outdone himself and all his previous work with this massive tome. Yes, it's pricier than most (and bigger than most, as well). It's a cliche but cliche's are borne of truth and it holds true here: It is the BEST book I have ever come across on this memorable actor. All the others genuinely pale in comparison. I could write reams as to why this is true and include more images to back it up but ultimately, I think that would defeat the purpose. The best way to find out is to get it and find out for yourself so as to not just take my word for it. I truly don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thought what would be delivered would be a book with a few photographs and long/drawn-out (ok, exciting just because of the subject matter and the man) but potentially dry, dull & boring prose. That is definitely NOT the case! There's at least one photo on each page with a short "blurb" explaining the photo and a sentence or so of Steve's own words--just as advertised. Not only is this book well worth the price, but to avid/rabid Steve McQueen fans like my husband and myself, this book is PRICELESS!
