Alternative protein duck and sweet potato dog good Able to use in place of extremely expensive prescription food for dog with IBD. Not cheap food by any means but at least 1/2 the price of prescription diet and has been fine for my IBD dog for over a year.

After a blood allergy test for our mini dachshund at our local vet with Nextmune, this is one of the brands and flavors on the acceptable list for her. She seems to prefer the Salmon flavor over the Duck flavor that was okay for her. A 4lb bag lasts us about 30 days feeding her the half a cup once a day the vet recommended. We buy the bigger 12lb bag when we can afford it. We give her (2) 1/4 a measuring cup scoops. I really like that they have the small breed formula. The tiny kibble pieces makes a big difference in how easy it is for our dachshund to eat. Our other dog is a medium to large breed. We used to get him the same Nature's Balance formula but the other kind for medium to large dogs. He loves it too. We can only afford it now for our dachshund because it is a must for her due to her allergies.My only issue is I wish they would make the tear to open portion a bit easier for people who have a hard time holding onto things tightly to pull open. I use scissors each time now to open the bags. We empty it out into an airtight dog food container. It keeps well.

My doodle has a sensitive stomach and often got colitis before changing him over to this food. I had no clue dogs could have too much protein until the vet reviewed the ingredients on his last food. The salmon is easy to digest and he eats it pretty well. I’m so glad to have found a dog food that keeps my little guy happy and healthy. I highly recommend!
