Great knife, well worth the price! Update!
I was so impressed by the Kershaw Culpepper Barlow, that I bought the Brandywine stockman by Kershaw. Yes these are made in China, but having returned much more expensive USA knives from among others, Buck, Case etc. due to poor quality control, I am VERY pleased with these excellent traditional slipjoint knives from Kershaw. First, they come very sharp, with even grinds and nicely centered blades. The snap on opening and closing is very good, good backsprings yet easy opening, with no blade rub on the three- blade stockman! Handles are perfectly fitted, no gaps between backsprings and linear, brass handle pins are smooth and flush with the scales. In other words, this is a much better built knife than the aforementioned USA companies, I'm sorry to say. On the other hand, I'm glad I gave these Kershaw Chinese built knives a look!June 9 update: To complete the circle, I bought and received the Kershaw Gadsden slipjoint knife, a smaller two- blade trapper pattern. Again, this is a very well made knife, great materials, fit and finish. G10 handles, two very sharp and well centered blades, brass liners and handle pins, flush and smooth with the handles. So glad I took a chance on these knives; quality sure surpasses more than a few competitors' offerings.

Great Looking Knife
I’ve been carrying the Kershaw Classic Slipjoint Pocket Knife for a while now, and it’s become my go-to. The G10 handle with the old-time wood-like design looks great and feels solid in my hand. The blade is sharp and perfect for everyday tasks. It’s a reliable knife that I really enjoy using.

Nicely finished, nice looking classical knife
This is a practical and classy-looking knife, without any threatening vibes. Opening and closing feels great and reassuring. Maybe the steel is not going to be the most impressive performer, but it is an adequate blade stainless steel that can get shaving sharp easily. Mostly on par with traditional knifes that didn't have the "super steels" of today. For basic daily needs that I remember my grandfather used to perform, it would do fine. It can even open some boxes. Have in mind that opening and cutting boxes is not a classical use of a knife. It is something that the modern man is afflicted with.

Modern take on a traditional knife
I enjoy and utilize many different types of knives. Recently I have been trying out some modern traditional knives. This one is a wonderful example of modern materials meets old school design. This knife fits well in the hand with a decent sized blade. I like the clip point blade which works well for cutting or the everyday task of package opening. The handles are comfortable and seem to fit the frame well. There is no half stop on this knife, but the action is good. Just keep your fingers out of the way when closing as it snaps closed pretty hard. It fits nicely in my pocket and while it feels sundry in the hand it does not feel that way in the pocket.

A poor man's Backpocket
A well made, budget alternative if you like the Case backpocket. Nice slim design, brass liners and even a lanyard hole. Roughly the same size. Slender clip point blade with some well placed jimping. Fit and finish are very good with no protruding pins or bolster seams. Blade is centered quite well and comes sharp. I'm impressed and will gladly make this a working EDC. Great knife at any price.

Great old style knife
Great 'old school' style pocket knife. Does NOT lock open or closed so you have to use it accordingly. But I bought it knowing that and wanting that. Sharp enough out of the box. Fit and finish is really good for the price. No surprise, kershaw is great, this is another great knife from a great knife company.

Awesome
Stockmans are my favorite traditional pattern. This thing is higher quality than the equivalent Case versions. Been very satisfied with it.

Punches far, far above the price point
Forgive the residue on the blade in the pictures, my knives get used a lot. That's from whittling a dozen or so marshmallow and hot dog sticks at a recent campfire--a task which this knife took in stride without blinking.Wasn't expecting much from this purchase. Figured it would be an ok Barlow knife that I could use and eventually lose, as it unfortunately often goes with my carry knives.Fit and finish are fantastic--not just for a $25 knife, its actually pretty darn nice, full stop.I had seen some complaints about sharpness out of the box, so again my bar was low--however, mine came stupid sharp out of the box. It effortlessly performed the "paper test" and I shaved most of the (abundant) hair off the back of my hand. I know, not much in the way of scientific testing, but when compared to a Victorinox knife that I received at the same time, this one was considerably sharper. The action is smooth and in that Goldilocks zone--not too stiff, not too loose, just right. The handle is pretty smooth, which adds to its attractiveness but might be a turn off for some folk. That being said, it's not a lock blade so personally I'm not going to be using it in wet, cold, overly slippery situations where I would want a more purpose oriented knife. It will clean fish, whittle sticks, and perform daily tasks admirably. As I write this I'm finding myself talked into buying a second in case I lose the first. You won't regret this knife, especially at it's current price point.
