Works great!
This product works great just as intended. I find it useful when welding thin metal so I don't blow through although I have quite a few co-workers who find them useless in their specialties. I'd recommend buying this if you work with thin metal or need a somewhat accurate indicator of temperature when preheating metal. I give it 5 stars but this is a product that's usefulness is individualized. Always think before you buy but 20 dollars isn't terrible in this line of work either.

Only got half a broken stick
Paid nearly $20 for (at best) half a stick, which, judging by other reviews, is better than a lot of other people's experience. WASTE OF MONEY, DO NOT BUY.

Markal Thermomelt Temperature Indicator Stick
Works as described. I use this as a temp indicator on 30-30 brass. I now can anneal my brass when needed and know it is done at the right temp. It is less expensive that other products so it fits my budget better. Thanks Amazon and thanks Markal.

Crayon was broken, holder was in perfect shape.
The marker will last me a long time as little as I will use it. But had I been in the line of work where I used this daily I would have been upset. The case is just fine, but the crayon is broken into short pieces that will waste most of it.

Mostly helps
I'm trying determine the temp of some brass that I am annealing. In theroy I get no melt at all below the specified temp. The brass pieces are smallish, so I get very little melt, but any melt tells me it's there. So over all I think it is indicating as needed. Overall it is the best method I have found yet. I will continue to use.

Total garbage. Dried out already when I got it. Won't stick to anything and just burns to black carbon instantly with any heat. Waste of money, get the better stuff.
