It worked on our small opening percolator!
I was very skeptical initially because the description was vague. I bought it for the Gourmet Elite Percolator which has a very small plastic knob. I had ordered two universal knobs before that didn’t fit so was worried this one would be sent back but I gave it a shot. Was extremely happy that it fit!!!! I had to use the original plastic screw on “nut” first then the metal fastener that came with this one and it worked like a charm. That’s very important, if you don’t have your original fastener it won’t work. However I was Very satisfied!

Fits my old 1950s Percolator!
It fits my really old vintage early 1950s percolator, whose top had cracked. The opening is about 13/16 of an inch, and I did have to wedge it in through the opening. Once placed, I screwed on the metal washer which comes with the top. That secures it in place, so it will not fall off, even if you turn the pot upside down. (And why would you want to turn it upside down anyway? 😂 It does not feel at all like glass to me. At least, it does not sound like glass when I hit against it with my fingernail. I think it is tempered plastic. However, that should not be a huge deal. As the package says, it is “heat resistant”, and should do the job as well as glass. So far, so good. I made a pot of coffee, and no complaints. It is a good value, and the way it’s made, it should fit a range of percolators from vintage to modern. Once you screw on the metal washer, it is secure. I like it, and I’m happy I bought it.

Happy with Purchase
Update! It broke, my fault. Ordered another one and it was huge, didn't fit and returned. I bought this as a replacement top for my electric Mixpresso 4-6 cup perculator. It fits, does not leak and was easy to put on. I recommend this if you're trying to get away from plastics touching your coffee.

Improves on the Percolator's Function and Looks
I previously purchased the Farberware "Yosemite" stove top percolator from Amazon. One of the percolator's reviewers mentioned purchasing this glass top because the plastic one that came with the percolator eventually wore loose due to screwing it back on and off (probably for washing underneath the plastic ring that the top fits onto). So, I purchased this item. I know, the shipping costs exceed the price of the item since at this writing, it has to be purchased from a third party seller on Amazon. However, it turned out to be well worth it for the following reasons: l. The glass top fits flush with the metal lid of the percolator and is secured firmly underneath the lid with a metal ring that has a drain hole. Accordingly, you do not have to continually remove the top when washing the percolator. This eliminated having to take off the original plastic top and and its ring to clean underneath (which was a pain because this required several tries to catch the screw of the plastic top correctly). 2. The glass top has a concave groove around its circumference which enables one to easily remove the percolator lid. In essence, it doubles as a handle for the percolator's lid. The original plastic top was no more than a nub that often required you to remove the percolator lid by prying it off around its edges with your nails. 3. Lastly, for the fashion conscious, it does make the percolator look better. A touch of class never hurts anything. The original top and its plastic ring made it look cheap. Hope this helps my fellow Amazon purchasers to decide whether or not to buy this top.

Huge improvement!
I've been using a Farberware 12-cup stovetop percolator for several years now. It came with a plastic top that was tinted blue. Not fond of the plastic or the tinting, I purchased two glass and metal replacements. At that time, the metal ring was very pliable and would constantly have to be bent back into shape. Using the gasket that came with the original top helped get a snugger fit, but it still fell off every few days. It was very annoying. With very few options, I begrudgingly ordered yet another replacement because the metal band was getting even weaker from having to be reshaped so many times. However, this time I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they made the ring out of a much sturdier material! This one loosens up a smidge now and then, but it only needs a little twist to snug it up again. It doesn't bend and warp! It's easy to remove for a nice, thorough cleaning, the metal is solid and heavier than the old one, and the smooth surface resists staining. The glass bulb looks so much better than the blue plastic, and it allows you to clearly see how dark the coffee is while it's perking. No one likes to be annoyed before their morning coffee, and now that my coffee pot top works the way it supposed to, there's one less thing to make me start the day off cranky...er.

Weak glass broke on installation. Your results may vary.
This top is dependent on a washer-like metal piece that threads onto the glass which holds it in place. It would not fit snug to my percolator lid and slid around almost freely. That combined with the very narrow opening in the bottom caused alignment problems with the metal tube. Because of this, I would have to fidget with the glass top just to get the percolator lid to completely close. Once I got the glass top centered, I tried to snug it down just beyond finger tight and it broke. To be fair, the instructions state: "DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN" but I don't believe I applied an unreasonable amount of force, especially considering it would easily slide around (The packaging also claims: "Fits Tight!"). This may fit fine on your percolator if your metal is thicker. I'm pretty sure my percolator has been around longer than I have and there are no brand markings, otherwise I would tell you. It's a nine cup, stainless steel whatchamacallit. The second thing worth consideration is difficulty in cleaning. I honestly never got to use this to find out, but my initial impression was that the opening is so narrow that only a rinse will have to suffice. You might be able to fit a Q-tip bent at a 90* angle if you want to clean the inner surfaces. I will only order this again if no other option is available to me. I want to use my percolator again.

Better than factory
Six month update: The replacement knob is still going strong. I love it now as much as my June review. I definitely continue to recommend this glass replacement knob. Original review: We have the Farberware percolator, the glass knob was never quite secure. It didn’t take long before taking off the lid just pulled off the knob. Then the threads on the lid began warping. Then the falling into a cup and breaking while pouring coffee started. My husband just kept finding more creative ways to keep the glass knob on while pouring his morning go juice. Eventually he got sick of it. So I started looking for knob replacements. I found this glass knob (we didn’t want plastic). This knob fits tight, it’s secure and it’s thicker than the original. The locking ring does a better job than the plastic original. I recommend this for Farberware percolators even if the original is working fine…for now.

Perfect fit
This was the perfect replacement for my aunt’s coffee pot. Her original got broken and this one did the job. It was delivered within 2 days so she and were both happy. I am glad I chose this one because the price was less than the others that were exactly the same.

Percolator Top
Well it does what it says. It's not the original but it solves the problem of a broken glass Perk bulb on my 50 year old plus pot that is no longer in production. Quite nifty

Alta calidad!
Lo compré para una cafetera muy antigua y quedó perfecta, con buena fijación, estabilidad y buen diseño, la mejor opción si tienes una cafetera a la que le falte está pieza, ajusta a la medida especificada.

Easy to fit
This really is a well designed, quality, universal bit of kit. Occasionally you buy something that just does what it is meant to do with no drama - this is one of those times.

Topless percolators are not sexy.
New to percolated coffee, I purchased a stovetop percolator over Amazon with a plastic top, and this item along with it. I don't consider myself much of a materials snob, but after reading the reviews criticizing the "cheap plastic top" on the very reasonably priced Norco 9-cup percolator, I figured for the pittance extra, why not add a glass percolator top to the order? The items were shipped separately, and I had a good few weeks making coffee with the stock plastic top. The glass top arrived at my door a few days ago, and I feel like I am in a good position to make a fair comparison here. The plastic top really is more practical for a percolator, because it is much lighter and less fragile than glass, making the lid easier to flip up. The plastic really doesn't look cheap at all. In fact, if I were just walking by my percolator and didn't know any better, I'd think the plastic was actually glass. Nonetheless, now I have both a plastic and glass tops, and this review really is about the glass top. The look of the glass top really is sharper. It provides a larger cavity than the stock plastic part for viewing the darkness of your coffee. To install, the glass top comes with a threaded large metal washer that pressure fits the top onto the percolator lid from the other side. The instructions warn not to screw the lid on too tightly or the glass can break. The fit was good for the hole size, and the percolator metal nozzle fits directly into the glass opening. This top is appropriate for a variety of sizes. It took a little fussing to get the top directly in the centre of the percolator lid, since the glass threads were much smaller than my percolator top hole, but once installed the top seems to be rigid enough after hand-tightening. In short, this would be a great replacement part if your percolator top breaks. The top looks more impressive out of the package than in the picture. I propose that this percolator top is precisely produced, with a paltry price - and perfect if you are particular about having plastic parts on your percolator. A positive purchase. Proceed!
