ASUS VG259Q: A Gamer’s Dream with a Few Trade-Offs
The Asus VG259Q is a fantastic pick if you’re serious about gaming and want something that can pull double duty for other tasks. The 280Hz refresh rate and IPS combo are hard to beat, and it’s built like it’ll stick around for a while. Sure, the price stings a little, and the backlight bleed can be a nitpick, but for me, the pros outweigh the cons. I’ve loved every minute of gaming on it—and honestly, even binge-watching shows looks better than I expected. If you’re ready to tweak it to perfection, this monitor’s a solid upgrade.Pros:280Hz refresh rate: Makes games feel incredibly smooth, especially fast-paced ones like shooters or racing games.IPS panel: Colors look vibrant, and the screen stays clear even if you’re not sitting dead center.Gaming performance: Handles everything with minimal motion blur—perfect for competitive gaming.Versatility: Not just for gaming; it’s solid for casual photo editing or movie watching too.Cons:Backlight bleed: There’s some in the corners, especially noticeable in dark scenes or loading screens.HDR performance: It’s there, but not amazing—you’ll probably need to tweak the settings to make it look decent.

Solid Choice for Gamers
I upgraded my gaming setup with the ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B, and overall, I’m quite pleased with its performance. The 32-inch curved screen provides an immersive experience, especially when playing expansive open-world games. The 165Hz refresh rate ensures that fast-paced action sequences are smooth and free from noticeable lag.One of the standout features is the Adaptive-Sync technology, which effectively eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. This has made a noticeable difference in the fluidity of my gameplay. Additionally, the monitor’s design is sleek and modern, fitting well into my gaming station. However, there are a couple of areas where the monitor falls short. The stand offers limited adjustability, lacking height and swivel options, which might be a drawback for those who prefer a customized viewing angle. While the monitor supports HDR, the effect is subtle and doesn’t deliver the vibrant contrast found in higher-end models. In conclusion, the ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B is a solid choice for gamers seeking an immersive and responsive display without breaking the bank. Despite some minor shortcomings, its performance and features offer excellent value for its price point.

Lots of features.
Its got quite a bit of feature, including cross hairs and stuff. Four years later and no screen burn in. The joystick was a took a bit of learning but it is actually better for making adjustments on the fly when you get accustomed to it.

STILL GOOD IN 2025
Have had this monitor for 4 years and it still holds up with no issues, and has very competitive specs still in the monitor market of 2025. Great value for the price I got it at and I still use it to this day. I played Valorant at a collegiate level and it's the reason why I can say this monitor will keep you on an even playing field at the competitive level.

Great monitor, terrible customer service
So far I absolutely love this monitor. Its image looks great, though I'm not 100% sure on the white balance yet. I'll need to mess with the colors settings more. What really sets it apart is its VividPixel setting. It makes everything look so much sharper and clearer. It blows my other monitors out of the water. There are also a lot of nifty gamer options that were I 20 years younger and still playing FPSes would have been really cool.I knocked off a star due to the abysmally terrible customer support and user manual. I needed to Vesa mount the monitor and the instructions that came with it said nothing about that. I found the user manual online, and all it said in the Vesa section was "The detachable arm/base of this monitor is specially designed for VESA wall mount." With arrows indicating to detach the normal base. This was 100% wrong and whoever wrote the manual had no idea what they were talking about.I was pretty sure the center of the monitor where the TUF logo was was the Vesa mount, but I didn't want to break something so I stupidly tried to contact customer service. 4 minutes after their online chat opened I got a message of "All of our chat agents are busy at the moment. Please try again in a later time". So I called the phone number and got an Indian agent, and you can guess how that went.He spent 30 minutes trying to convince me that the Vesa mount was where the arm base goes (he was just looking at the same manual that I had), which was obviously impossible as there wasn't 100mm space between it and the bottom of the monitor (see the blue arrow in the attached picture). He kept telling me to remove different parts of the monitor that were physically molded onto the monitor. Removing them would have required a circular saw. And he was ABSOLUTELY SURE that the middle of the monitor wasn't the Vesa mount (green arrow in picture). Once he got to the point where he was telling me to remove "rubber grommets with tweezers to get to the Vesa screws at the bottom of the monitor" which didn't exist, I decided to instead poke at the little holes in the middle of the monitor, and low and behold, the rubber grommets came out and there were Vesa holes under them. He told me I had basically voided my warranty by removing those grommets and he couldn't be held responsible for me doing so. Wow.

Great Monitor for Gaming!
Great fast motion for gaming with no shadowing. Highly recommended for gamers. No dead pixels either and holds up well after almost 2 years.
