It's so salty! Perfect for umeboshi onigiri!

With rice, it's nice!
Whoa, the plum paste just arrived yesterday and I'm already being asked to rate it ~ but that's okay because I did open and taste it immediately. It is certainly authentic "ume" and what I grew up eating in rice balls or to aid in digestion when under-the-weather. The paste is the best part of the preserved plum, it's the innards minus the fleshy skin and seed. It is sharp, tangy, salty and flavorful. It makes the back of my jaw hurt with saliva thinking about it. A dab or two mixed in hot rice sprinkled with seaweed flakes and sesame seeds...yum! I've got the rice going now.

So good! Umeboshi is umami with a fruity sour kick.
this stuff is just perfect. maybe scraping the actual umeboshi off the seed is a little better tasting. Maybe not. A great alternative to anchovies is Caesar-style dressings and delicious right on top of rice.

Salty and sour...not the whole plum flavor but an inexpensive alternative.

Tastes great.
Love this stuff. If you like to eat Chamoy with fruit, this plum sauce is next level. My fav thing to do is put frozen mango or strawberries in a container with a small amount of the plum sauce and shake it up.

Bit sweeter than expected
Local Asian store stopped carrying it, so was grateful to find this purveyor of ume paste, and Japanese at that, good. Even better, in an 8oz bottle... which isn't very common on Amazon anyway. Though tasting it... somewhat disheartened this is the only choice I have currently. The other brand, the paste tasted *exactly* like whole pickled ume plum, just in a squeezable form. This one tastes a bit sweeter, cloyingly so. And the taste of the ume itself, a bit more artificial. The other brand isn't available on Amazon, so this is all there is. Grateful it's around at all, but disappointed it's not the same quality, and at a more expensive price. What else is new buying food in America... Three stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ _ _

Space saving. Kids love it on Rice.
We use this often and it is easier to use this squeeze tube rather than the whole plum. It takes up less space in my refrigerator.

This is absolutely delicious I really love Japanese pickled plums and this is going to be really nice on rice. Would buy this item again, also it's a really pretty purple color 💜
