The Metropolitan Museum of Art Guide

I purchased my copy at the museum for $24.99. This is a beautiful book, with a decent overview of the many different types of artworks in the museum's vast collection.

This 2019 edition of the Met guide is such a lost opportunity. There was a chance here to fix the obvious problems with the 2012 edition. I just looked at the two side by side and they are virtually identical. The lack of floor plans in both editions is a huge error. The Met is a physical colossus and the lack of detailed department maps is a strange hard to explain omission. This guide is a nice survey of the collections - and the size of the text is good - but it is not better than the 2012 edition - and you might be better off with that.

Can NEVER be better than the previous edition of this guide! Simply because NOTHING HAS CHANGED ..., (with the exception of the cover picture). Missing maps of museum, floor plan, wing names. Just pictures & info of the collection pieces.
